I sit on the tree ready to pounce, the bitter wind nipping at my already red nose. I sniff the air and smell no other soul. I turn and watched as the sun went down and I swiftly moved from tree to tree, making sure my sent isn't  in the winds way, while keeping the baby blue backpack my mother had given me slung across my shoulders. I looked around and got a weird feeling, but shook it off as i found the biggest tree i could find. Taking my backpack off, i took out the oil bottles. Dumping them on the base of the tree. I then grabbed my fire cracker, and lit it, giving me 30 sec to shift and run out of the territory.

Flashback:

"Mom what going on out there!"

My ten year old-self asked as my mother rushes me out the back porch of the pack house away from Lucas.

"Now listen sweetie...there's bad wolves out there, they're alphas-"

"But i thought alphas are nice." i said biting into my apple.

"No, not at all, they're evil devils, i know i'm human and that makes a difference in how i see them, but Fianna, you need to run, they're after you. Here take this" She shoved a baby blue backpack into my chest. By this point i was terrified.

"You need to run. Remember, never let anyone convince you alphas are good people, now run! Run!" i slowly back away and dropped my apple when i finally notice the fear in her eyes.

"Mom what-"

"Run!" I started running but heard a loud boom and felt shaking of the ground, causing a branch to fall on me. i tried to get back up, but my leg was stuck under it somehow. My heart dropped when i heard furious growls. i turned around to see four wolves surround my mother.

"Mom!" I shouted. Then one of the four wolves turned towards me and left my mother for the others to finish off. It made its way to me. By its size and the power radiating off of it, i could tell it was an alpha. I could hear my mothers screams as two betas and one other alpha slowly ripped my mother to pieces behind him.

"No, no, no, please stop!" i screamed. I tried so desperately to move the log off my foot but it was as if it was super glued to the ground. Fear building up in me, my vision began to blur with tears as i hear him growl then pounce on me. I scream, I knew it was the end, as i felt him dig his teeth into my back I screamed so loud i could have broken glass. By now i was full on crying from the physical and emotional pain. I felt the hot stickiness of my blood all over my back as the world started to go black. But i forced my eyes open when I felt the wolf get thrown off me. That's when I saw it. A red wolf I've never seen before tackling the grey wolf against the tree. All of the sudden I felt a crack run through my back, but it wasn't from the gash the grey wolf made. It felt like my bones were being crushed. The pain was beyond belief, excruciating waves of spasms scatter themselves throughout my body. I screamed once again, and as the pain finally dissolved itself into nothing, I opened my eyes and found i was just above the ground. Four feet and a red coat that's all I saw when I looked down. I had finally shifted. Somehow in the process my body removed itself from under the log. I looked at the other red wolf  but he was already running off to fight other wolves, so I ran off into the woods. Away from the monsters that call themselves alphas, that killed my pack....my family
