A few weeks later, I went back to Boston. Reilly and I had kind of sort of talked, but we were still avoiding the elephant in the room.

We both knew that if it was brought up, we'd be arguing in an instant. But we needed to talk about it. I needed to tell him my reasons for keeping Sawyer from him. We both needed to figure out what we were going to do about living arrangements regarding Sawyer. The whole thing was a mess.

I decided I would stay with Reilly, Dougie, and Bart because then we could talk easier, and I could see my baby boy.

Reilly picked me up from the airport.

"Hey," I said as I got in his car. I felt awkward. "We really need to talk."

"I know," he said, peering over at me. "I just don't want to fuck up again."

"I don't either," I admitted. "Lets just get it over with." Reilly pulled into a Dunkin Donuts parking lot before he started talking.

"I know I said some things, and I know I apologized, but not all had been forgiven," he told me, looking up at me.

"I was nervous and scared! I was so young and I was a baby! I had to sort things out! I was thinking of you too!"

"Is three fucking years not long enough to sort things out?" he yelled.

"That's it," I said. "I'm leaving."

"No wait!"

"No!"

I turned to open the door but Reilly quickly locked it.

"Let me the fuck out! I'll get a cab to Adam's house!" I yelled.

"Katie you're not staying at his house!"

"You can't make my decisions!! Just let! Me! Out!" I shouted. I pounded at the door with my fists, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Hey, shhh," Reilly said in a hushed tone. He touched my shoulder.

"Don't touch me!"

"Shhh, come 'ere it's okay," he said gently. I reluctantly stopped pounding at the door and let Reilly hug me.

"I I I just didn't w w want you to b be distracted f from hockey," I stuttered. Reilly ran one of his hands through my hair.

"I know," he whispered. "It's okay."

"No it's not."

"It is," he said. He kept stroking my hair. I believed him

I got myself cleaned up before we went inside.

"Mommy!!" I heard a voice yell. Sawyer came running towards Reilly and me.

"Hey there big guy!" I said as I picked him up. "I missed you!"

"I missed you too mommy," he said, burying his head in my neck.

"Have you told him?" I asked Reilly. He shook his head.

"Hey Bart? Dougs? Can we get some privacy for like ten minutes?" Reilly asked. The guys agreed and left to get pizza.

"Hey Sawyer, wanna know something cool?" I asked him.

"Yeah!!" he said excitedly.

"You know how I tell you about daddy sometimes?"

*Reillys POV*

"Yeah! You say he's a gweat person who loves me very much," Sawyer replied. I smiled.

"Well, Reilly is your daddy," she said. The look on his face was priceless as he turned to look at me. He was grinning from ear to ear.

"Daddy!" he squealed, his arms outstretched. I laughed and Katie handed him over to me before she went to unpack.

"Don't tell mommy I told you, but she says you're very handsome and that she misses you a ton," Sawyer said quietly. I smiled.

"Don't tell mommy, but I think she's very pretty," I whispered to him.

"You secwet is safe with me!" Sawyer said. I laughed.

I would have to ask her about that later.
