What did that guy mean? My dreams had to mean something and this man just said it loud and clear. A wolf.I laughed at that thought, turning back around to push my why towards the academy entrance.
Just then I could of sworn I saw a guy, with the yellow eyes of the woods and another with the blue eyes of the ocean. My heart sank with realization, in that moment they disappeared.
No..no..way..
I scanned the crowd of students for them, but the uniforms just blended into each other.
" Daria! Daria! Wait for me " called out Joshua from a crowd to my left.
" Leave me alone. " I whispered. I turned away swinging my short ponytail.
He eventually caught up to me, throwing his slim, sleeved arm over my shoulder and burying me into his armpits.
Disgusting. As if the universe couldn't hate me anymore than it did. It did. We walked like that into the school halls.
" I said leave me alone josh." I complained, pushing away his arm.
" Listen, I understand you dont like me but I want you to make friends. " He explained, " It's not like people are just gonna walk up to you. Honestly, your really scary. "
" Thanks for the encouragement, I'll consider the advice. " I gave a weak smile. Then switched my direction before he could say anything else.
••
" Alright class, welcome everyone to your second year of academy. That's goes for you Ricky, no more paper airplanes. " The class laughed at this remark and some even gave Ricky high fives.
" Coming to this school is a privilege not a- " Mr. Grier continued to explained on and on about how us kids should take things seriously and how back-in-his-day things were different.
All I could think was, yeah no bull..your old of course things changed!
Sitting in the back of the classroom, I looked like what I was. An outcast. I stared out the window, it grew darker and misty and I slowly drifted to sleep..
••
I could feel the damp grass between my cold, numb toes and fingers. I stared into the distance, being dragged by my back collar.
I couldn't move. I couldn't even look away, away from the huge, hairy feet that was dragging me. I was frozen.
Into the woods? Wasn't I in the woods before?
My heart rate was no longer beating, as if I were deceased. I contemplated that option and it must be true, I couldn't of survived that strike to the head.
My blood dripped on the way, staining the bright apple, green grass.
I was now laying on dirt. Still looking in the same direction, all I could see was the football field and then dirt being thrown overtop of me.
How great.
Will this be my burial? How long will it take me someone to find me and then burn me where as I can finally Rest In Peace. The dirt and leaves covered me barely.
No..no..no
••
" No! "
My eyes burst open, the word no slipped through my lips as if I wasn't speaking it. Mr. Grier paused from giving his boring speech, and now everyone's eyes were on me, how great.
I grabbed my books as quickly as I could and ran out the class. I began walking down the hall. Great. I just embarrassed myself.
But.. that dream wasn't like any other I've had. Like- I wasn't the one feeling and talking anymore. Sort of hard to explain, but I could never explain them anyway.
