Everyone has a secret. You told your best friends Zeo, Masamune and Toby everything, but there was one thing you never talked about. You never thought it would be important anyway and why make them worry? Your secret? You have asthma. You haven't had an asthma attack in five years so you thought everything was fine. Today however, this was going to change.
The boys and you just ran a mile to improve your training. Becoming a better blader was always your main goal and your friends were constantly doing everything to reach that goal. When your group almost reached the Dungeon Gym, you started to feel your lungs burn and fell behind. You failed to suck in some air. Remembering you didn't carry your inhaler with you, you began to panic. You fell to the ground and grabbed your throat desperately. Someone called your name. "Hey! What's wrong?" Masamune shouted, but you couldn't answer. Your breathing was ragged and harsh. Eventually you fainted.
When you woke up again, you noticed that you were laying in your room. "Zeo? Toby? Masamune?", you called out and soon started coughing. Your door burst open and Masamune ran immediately by your side followed by Toby. "Good to see you awake again! The doctor said you will be fine, just rest for a little." To be honest you were kind of sad Zeo didn't look after you, but smiled nonetheless at Masamune.
"How are you?", Toby asked, throwing you a water bottle which you caught gratefully. "Better, thank you."
At the moment you were sitting on your bed and staring out the window. It was raining, again. Two days had gone by since the events happened and Zeo still hadn't talked to you. Whenever you saw him, he looked rather angry. You shivered while thinking about him. You didn't really know why he was upset, but you made the decision to apologize. Thunder boomed and lighting started to ignite the night sky. Not being able to fall asleep again, you headed to the kitchen to grab a quick snack. Apparently, you were not the only one with this idea since you crashed into somebody. It turned out to be Zeo. An awkward staring session started while you tried to think of something to come up with to say.
"Um..hi." Yes, very intelligent. You mentally facepalmed. The male just gave you a short glare and then pushed himself past you.
"Zeo wait!", you shouted, grabbing his wrist. "Why are you so angry at me?" Zeo was silent for a second, but then snapped at you. "What do you think? You nearly died! You should have told us about your asthma!"
"I'm sorry. I haven't had an asthma attack in five years!"
"Well guess what, not anymore! You only think about yourself!"
"Zeo..listen.. I'm sorry for everything, bu-", you started, however the blader interrupted you. "No." He retracted his wrist from your grip and you frowned. You understood you hurt his feelings, but he seemed to ignore your attempt to apologize.
"I don't need an apology from someone like you!"
"Someone like me?", you asked, feeling a piercing pain in your chest.
"Yes, someone like you. Someone who is selfish and only thinks about himself! Someone who doesn't care about his friends!" By this time anger raised inside of you. Looking at his enraged face expression, you felt tears starting to built their way up. You turned on your heel and ran to the front door.
"You don't know anything!", you said before leaving the house with a bang of the door. There you walked now, soaking wet from the rain in the dim light of the street lamps. You wanted to go back, but would Zeo let you explain this time? Probably not, you thought.
Suddenly, you heard footsteps behind you. They were fast and determined, catching up to you sooner than you liked. A hand landed on your shoulder and turned you around. To your surprise you saw Zeo.
"I'm sorry, please come back." His words rang through your head as you looked into his sky blue eyes. They held a pleading expression.
"Z-zeo? What are you d-doing?", you asked, shivering from the cold. Zeo noticed and put his jacket on your shoulders.
"I'm here to apologize. I know it was wrong to not let you explain. My anger overwhelmed me. I just don't want to lose you...we don't want to lose you. Masamune, Toby and I were worried because of you." The brown haired boy looked at his feet and you felt guilty. You couldn't blame him for yelling at you anymore. You sighted.
"I'm sorry too. Let's head back and talk about it, okay?" Zeo nodded and you gently took his hand in yours while walking back.
"I didn't tell you because I knew you would freak out and worry about me.", you confessed while rain was still pouring from the dark sky.
"I only freak out because I love you!", Zeo exclaimed.
"Wait wha-" He cut you off by pressing his lips against yours. You squeaked in surprise, but then wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him even closer to you.
