The young, five year-old girl woke up at seven AM, like she did every morning. Her messy, curly, blonde locks bounced as she rose out of her small bed and threw off the light pink quilt and sheets off her small form. She jumped to the floor and opened the door, then she made her way to the kitchen where Alfred was already awake making her pancakes for breakfast.
"Good morning young Taryn, you must be ready for breakfast?" Alfred asked her with a smile on his face. Taryn rubbed the tired out of her eyes and responded in her tired voice " I'm starving Alfred." He silently chuckled and started to make her plate of pancakes and strawberries with a cup of water, then set it on the wooden table in the kitchen.
Taryn climbed up on to the seat and started to eat her meal. "Alfred is dad going to wake-up soon?" She asked as he sat down beside her with his plate. "I will go wake him after we finish breakfast. He sleeps longer than you young Taryn." She smiled as if she was saying 'thank you' to him. They soon finished eating and Alfred let Taryn come with him to wake up Bruce.
Once they were in front of Bruce's bedroom door they knocked and then Alfred opened the door enough to slip Taryn in. She ran up to her fathers king-sized bed. She began to tug on his bed quilt to climb up on the tall bed. Bruce felt the blanket moving off his warm, tired body, then he grasped Taryn's tiny hand and pulled her up to him. "Good morning daddy." She said with a happy tone. "Good morning sweetheart." Bruce said as he cradled her when he stood out of bed.
As the two walked out of the room, Bruce quickly took Taryn to her room where Alfred was waiting to get her dressed and cleaned up. When they arrived to her room Bruce placed her back upon the floor and knelled down to her height. "Taryn I have to go to Gotham to deal with business, I love you more than anything. Alfred will take care of you while I'm away." He said this in a solemn tone while looking straight into Taryn's confused green eyes. She hugged Bruce tightly and he kissed he messy hair. "I love you daddy."
Bruce opened the door and gently pushed her into the room. He quickly ran back to his room, got dressed in a suit, then put on a long sleeved coat and grabbed the gun his parents were killed with.
After he walked to the garage to get in a fancy car and drove off over the bridge to Gotham. Soon he arrived in the city. Bruce arrived for the trial of the man who murdered his parents. After the jury was let out he was on the opposite side of the hall. Slowly he pulled up one of his sleeves to show the small gun. He aimed and shot the criminal, thinking that killing him was how justice worked.
Rachel Dawes, his friend since childhood, ran up to the man who was near death. Rachel then looked at Bruce with disappointment. He was now a criminal, who killed out of fear and hate.
A/N: Thank you for reading this fanfic. It has to start somewhere and every good character has a background. I'm deciding on what age I want Taryn to be. Also, I will only use Dr. Jonathan Crane as the villain, the Ra's al Ghul League of Shadows will only train Bruce Wayne but die off in the burning training building. Please feel free to vote and comment.
