The road ghost

My wife and I were lost. We were travelling in a country we weren't familiar with. There were only a few street lamps and we were both terrified of the dark. The roads we went through just lead us in circles. In the end, I decided to leave my wife in the car and look around in the darkness for anybody to see if they can help us. "I'm gonna go outside and see if anyone is there to show us directions," I said to my wife as soon as I opened the car door.

A few miles away, I could make out a figure that stood in a white gown. The figure seemed to have long black hair. I shouted,"Umm.. Excuse me! Can you help us? We are lost!" The figure did not move after I said that. Before I said it, she was walking towards my wife and me. Speaking of my wife, I looked inside the car and noticed my wife was missing! I panicked and looked around the car for her. I also saw the figure get closer and closer. Once she got close enough, I saw that the person was floating a few inches above ground! I broke into cold sweat. I hurried and looked for my wife and found her in the back of my car. Beside her was a note that read 'Take the path you took since just now. I'm tired playing with you and your wife already.'

I crushed the paper into a tight ball and picked up my wife. I carried her to to the front of my car without looking at the ghost. I drove off and never turned back knowing that if I did, something else would happen.
