CHAPTER FIVE

Maya’s pov

I woke up early in the morning from a frantic knocking on the front door. I stood up and walked to the front to see a small dwarf girl. She looked frightened and tears were falling from her eyes.

“What’s wrong, little one? Why so frightened?” I asked and she just looked at me and started crying harder. After a moment she calmed down a bit and said “my mom, she needs help. Please help me lady doctor. She’s trapped under a tree; it fell in the wrong direction when my papa was cutting it. She’s in a lot of pain.” I took all my stuff, called Kira and Chaos and followed the dwarf girl. We came to a stop after about 15minutes of running and I saw a woman in her late thirties under a big oak tree. When I asked her if she can feel her legs that looked crushed and she said no I was worried. I send chaos to find a troll to help me gets rid of the tree, he came moments later and did what I asked of him. We pulled the woman up and I secretly healed her with a bit of magic. We took her to my house and put her in a bed. I thanked the troll, gave him some desserts and sent him on his way.

“What happened? Is everything okay?” I heard a husky voice ask from behind me.

“Everything is fine, it was just an accident. A tree fell in the wrong direction and crushed the leg of a dwarf woman. She’s in a room in the house and will stay here for two days.”

I answered to Kain who looked better today. Even though I usually don’t pay attention to males, I have to admit that he is really handsome; long black hair with silver and red streaks, silver eyes with red flecks. He was tall and very muscular.

“So, is there anything you need Kain?”  “No, I just wanted to take a walk. Care to join me?”

I took my coat and asked him where. He answered that we will go to the garden in the back. While we were walking he asked me about myself; what I like, what I hate, about my family and I asked him back. I just didn’t tell him the truth about my family and that his guards used to be my guards; they had their memories sealed. 

Kain’s pov

Maya is really kind and I’m interested in her. I would love to take her for my bride; I just don’t know how Kai and the people of the village will react to that. He said that she’s just like a sister to him and that the people in this village depend on her. She’s beautiful with her purple hair and violet eyes with gold and silver flecks. I never liked females much in my long live because they always wanted something from me or gave me orders like my mother and three sisters. I hope she will agree to go with me, if not I’ll think of something so she wont have a choice. I know she won’t like me then but I will change her mind.
