Bellamy woke up earlier than usual. The sun was just starting to go up. It was unusual for him to wake up that early but, he did. Might as well make the best of it, he thought and started his morning routine. Right as he put his jacket on, there was a knock on his door. He opened it up to see Clarke.
"I thought we planned on running into eachother."
"Couldn't wait." Clarke says and pulls him away. They walked together, out to the field in Arkadia. Clarke looked around and found a small table that could only fit her. She stood on it, expecting Bellamy to stand next to the table, which he did. "Everyone!" She shouted. Many looked her way. "In order to free you from Alie, I had to talk to her. She told me something that changes whether we live or die. In six months, the Earth will be irradiated again and won't be survivable even for those born in space."
"So, what do we do?" A single voice rang from the crowd. There were overwhelming murmurs in the crowd growing to an uproar.
"We don't know." Bellamy spoke up. His voice was loud, but not mean and snappy. "That's up to you. We can either stick our heads in the sand and wait for it. Or, we can fight it like we do everything else. We always find a way. We will this time too."
"How?" Another voice rang. Neither of them spoke for a second.
"We will figure something out." He shrugged.
"It's ok to be scared." Clarke adds. "We all are. But we will find a way." Will that, she got off the table, Bellamy helped her down. Guards immediately went to them and demanded the talked to Abby and Kane.***
"You didn't think of telling me?" Abby questioned, pacing with her arms crossed.
"We just did." Clarke shrugged.
"Oh, don't play that, Clarke. You knew the world was ending, and you didn't happen to mention it to anyone but Bellamy?"
"I just..." Clarke didn't have an answer.
"I advised her not to." Bellamy invervined. "Thought it was better to keep it in between us. Clarke insisted we go public and we forgot to tell you first."
"You forgot?"
"It's my fault. Really." Bellamy kept pushing.
"Just... we need to talk to eachother for now on. Alright?"
"Got it." Bellamy agreed. Clarke nodded.
"Ok. So, got a plan for how we're going to survive this mess?"
"For that, we need Raven." Clarke says.
"I'll get her." Abby walls out. There was a moment of quiet.
"Why did you take the blame?" Clarke asked Bellamy.
"You've got enough things you feel guilty about. You didn't need to feel guilty for something petty like this."
"You do?" Clarke shot back. He didn't answer.Soon, Raven walked in with Abby.
"Nice speech out there. What's next, we make sacrifices to the radiation gods?"
"Hey to you too." Clarke says. "If we give you a computer, think you can trace mass amounts of radiation? See where it's coming from?"
"This is me your talking to." Raven smiled.
"Great. Get on that." Raven nodded and started to leave. "Oh, and Raven? Think we have enough gunpowder for a few more bombs?"
"We live in a rocket, Clarke. The real question would be if the nitrozen is bad or not."
"Alright, that's all." Clarke nodded and she left. "We need an engineer to go and see if it's still good for use. Then, we gather it with the gunpowder separate and stash it until we need it."
"Why would we need it?" Bellamy asked.
"If we can blow up the plants, maybe it could by us some time."
"Or make our time shorter!" Bellamy says. "Clarke, what if it just makes it move faster? Your mixing radiation and explosives- you might as well make a Atom bomb to drop on ourselves while you're at it!"
"Ok, bad plan. What do you think we should do?"
"I don't know." He sighed. "Newtralize it? Contain it somehow?"
"Like the acid fog." Clarke understood.
"Exactly."
"I'll talk to Raven about it."
"No, not just Raven. We need a chemist."
"Jasper." Clarke agreed.
"I'll go get him." Bellamy nodded. Jasper and Bellamy walked in moments later.
"Someone needed a chemist?" He smiled.
"Jasper, is there a way to neutralize radiation?"
"If there was do you think we would have been in space?" Jasper have a valid point.
"What about contain it, or keep it out of a general area?"
"Depends on our materials."
"What would we need?"
"Cement. And a lot of it." Clarke paced a little.
"If the radiation is seeping through areas of a power plant, think we could block it with cement?"
"Again, with the right materials."
"As soon as Raven finds a plant, we need someone to go check out what is going on exactly."
"I'll go." Bellamy offered immediately. Clarke looked up at him.
"What? No."
"Why not?"
"Too dangerous."
"You suggested it."
"For someone else! I need you here. Even with all you've done, Bellamy, people listen to you and I need someone here who can do that. You can't do it if your dead!" Bellamy was stunned.
"I'm not going to die, Clarke. In and out. Easy."
"And if it isn't?"
"Then no one will complain!"
"I'm will! Dammit, Bellamy! After everyone I've lost, I'm not loosing you! You're staying here if I have to handcuff you to the table!"
"Oh, taking notes, I see." Bellamy rolls his eyes and walks out with Clarke hot on his trail.
"Don't walk away Blake! I'm still talking-" They argued all the way down the hall.
"Just like old times." Jasper sighed and left.***
"Radio as soon as you get there." Clarke demanded.
"Yeah."
"And say something if you start feeling weird."
"Course."
"And if anything goes wrong-"
"Get the hell out of there." Bellamy finished her sentance as the loaded the rover.
"Don't worry, Clarke." Raven smiled walking up. "I'll make sure he won't do anything too stupid."
"Oh no. Not my best mechanic too." Clarke whined.
"I'm your only mechanic." She corrected. "Which means I'm the only one who should go but... I don't know what's there. Could use some muscle." Raven punched Bellamy playfully and got in the Rover.
"Just... be careful... ok?" Clarke had an almost pleading look.
"Always." He grinned. Off they went. What is with you stressing me out over radio? Clarke thought with a sigh.
*** Oooh... concerned Clarke! Now we're getting somewhere!
I'm sorry it isn't longer. I'll work on ch. 3 tomorrow but no promises!
Also, please tell me how I'm doing! Feel free to give input and yell at me bout stuff!
Love you guys!***
