Ever since I could remember I was unhappy. Even before my Dad died. I was bullied all the way from 2nd grade to 11th. It really sucked. My Dad died when I was 13. Every day before school he would make him and I a cup of coffee. Now I make my own coffee and I stare at the photo of him sitting on my dinning room table. I wish he was here. I miss him a lot. I don't know how he died, my mom wont tell me. Any time I would ask my mom how he died she would always reply with "Elizabeth Marie, how many times do I have to tell you, He died of a heart attack." I don't believe her thought because my Dad was the healthiest man I knew, he didn't smoke or drink. He was in the military for 25 years. I stopped asking eventually though, It hurt to be lied to.
As I drove up to my school in my Dads truck I saw Chloe Griffith, the most popular girl at school. I hated her. She would always tell me I looked like the homeless woman that sat outside her Dads pizza parlor. Considering I had crippling depression causing me to have poor personal hygiene I most likely did look like Ms.Jones. That was her name, the homeless woman. She got kicked out of her house by her boyfriend who would hit her and tell her she was nothing. If Dad was still alive he would kick her boyfriends ass.
I walked into my 1st period class and I sat down in the back. Just as I pulled my textbook out Jason Brown walked in. I watched him choose his seat carefully making sure his girlfriend, Chloe, could sit next to him. He and I were good friends in 4th grade. He moved away for a year and we stopped talking. He occasionally smiled at me as if to say "Hey there." I wouldn't smile back. It still hurt to look at him. His smile was like a drug, and I'm pretty sure I was addicted.
