Chapter 2

Sota stood outside the door of his mother's room as he listened to his mother crying. Ever since they were in the shed earlier and found out that the well was indeed closed, his mother lost it. Miss. Higurashi was so sure that her father was right when he said that the well was open. She just thought that there was another chance of seeing her all-grown-up daughter again. After all, it has been 12 years. Miss. Higurashi pushed herself out of her father-in-law arm's and ran quickly into the house to lock herself in her bedroom to cry. She had been crying for the past 20 minutes now, and it was breaking Sota's heart. He wanted her to stop sobbing her eyes out or he'll be crying next. This was beginning to be too much for his family to handle. Maybe it was really time to let things go and forget about Kagome.

He knocked on the wooden door. "Mom? Are you okay? We can talk if you want?" He asked her through the door. She wiped her eyes and blinked to stop her tears for a moment.

"I'm good Sota. Really...I'm fine!" She told him from the other side of the door. She didn't want her son to be worried about her. She's a grown woman and can handle this situation on her own. Sadly, this particular thing is handled by her crying on her bed.

Sota didn't believe her, but let it slide. "Okay, Mom. I'll be downstairs with Hitomi," he said, slowly backing away into the hallway.

His mother didn't reply or say anything, so he completely walked away from the door, and made his way downstairs to his girlfriend. He walked to the living room to see her sitting down on the sofa playing with her small fingers while biting down on her lip. Hitomi's head was down with her eyes stuck to her hands. When she looked up and saw her boyfriend, she moved over so Sota can sit down next to her. Hitomi then sat up straight, preparing herself to hear Sota talk.

It was all silence for a few minutes before she spoke up.

"Um, your grandfather said that he'll be in his room if you need anything," she told him while looking at his face to see what he'll say. He just nodded, making sure she knew that he heard her. Sota still didn't say anything. His brown eyes were glued on the cream-colored carpet below their feet. Hitomi sighed. She didn't like it when her boyfriend was quiet and didn't talk to her. She wanted to know what was making him so unhappy. What happened that made them all distant. Hitomi wants him to talk to her about his problems, so she can help make the pain going away from whatever he was going through.

"Do you want to talk about it?" Hitomi asked him, trying to get him to sleep.

He shook his head no, still staring at the floor. She noticed his bottom lip began to tremble and his brown eyes began to water.

"Are you okay?" She scooted over closer to him.

He shook his head no again, his hands covering his eyes while his right leg bounced up and down.

He was about to burst out in tears.

"Do you want me to hold you?" She asked him, her arms spreading out wide ready for him to come into her embrace.

Sota shook his head yes, going into his girlfriend's arms, laying his head on her shoulder, letting out all of the emotions from when his big sister left him when he was 11-years-old. Not having a sibling to talk to for advice or to help him with his homework. He had to learn how to let go of someone he loved very much, so she can be happy. But he was not happy. Everything that he was feeling came out of him. His shoulders shook as he releases tears onto his girlfriend's shoulder.

"Kagome, you better come over here," Inuyasha said, with that grin that made her go crazy as he palmed his strong hands at his wife's plump backside. Inuyasha was feeling horny all of a sudden. He and Kagome were home alone and he wanted to use the time that they have while Shiro was gone at school to get some "loving" done in the bedroom.
