Broken

Chapter Nine

~Alex's POV~

When I woke up, I looked around the jail cell. Tora was sleeping next to me looking all cute. I smiled and got up and walked out of the jail cell, going up to the surface. When I got up from the ladder, I see the princess talking to a guard.

"Well, I need you to send this message to everybody in the kingdom! That the princess is having a ball to see who fits being a prince!" I overhear her say to the guard. The guard writes the message on a piece of parchment and then nods, walking away. I walk past the princess and I grab a few pieces of fruit and then I walk back to the jail, avoiding eye contact with the princess. Once I get down into the cell that me and Tora were in, I see Tora's eyes opened and I walk in.

"Hey Tora, I got you some food." I say handing her the fruit. She takes the grapes and starts to eat them slowly. "Tora, should we get out of this cell and go buy a home?" I ask her as she nods and we get up. We run out of the cell and up the ladder to the surface.

"It's been a day since I have seen the sun, wow..." Tora says as her ears start to twitch. We hold each others hands as we walk around the courtyard. We grab some water and Tora splashes it on me laughing. "Hehe!~ You won't splash meee!!" Tora says as she runs away from me. I laugh and run after her.

"Excuse me!" I hear somebody say. Me and Tora turn around and look at the princess. "You guys are invited to the ball I am having tonight! It is to find the perfect prince or king for me! I hope to see you there!~" The princess says to us and before she turns around, I see her wink at me. I look at Tora and she looks excited.

"Alex! We should totally go!" She says tugging on my arm. I look at her tail flickering around in excitement. I put my hand on her shoulder.

"Tora, did you not just hear what she said?" I say to Tora, "She said a ball to find a prince, and before she turned around she winked at me. At me!" I say, anger boiling up inside. Tora looks at me with her eyes glimmering.

"Awwww, but c'mon! I will  protect you from her talking to you, ok?" She says comforting me. I sigh and I look at her beautiful smile.

"Ok beautiful." I say kissing her head.

~Princess Skye's POV~

"Guards!" I yell as I walk into the castle. All the guards scatter over to me. "Tonight I need you all to get that...that girl, away from that man over there. I will make him my prince tonight!" I say as all the guards nod and I dismiss them. I go up to my room, getting ready. "Ohh that man! He will be my prince, whether he likes it or not! He's just, just so perfect! His voice is perfect! His looks, his eyes, his clothes! Everything! He will be mine tonight! I say to myself as I put my makeup on and I grab the most beautiful dress I have and I put it on. I look down at my dress and I grin, "He will be mine.."
