Chapter Ten

~Tora's POV~
Once me and Alex were ready we set off for the castle,
"This is going to be so fun!" I squeal as my ears start to twitch. Alex chuckles and kisses my cheek.
"I can't wait to dance with you." Alex says hugging me. I hug back and we walk into the castle, seeing many decorations and people gathering around tables.
"Woah..." I say amazed at everything. Alex and I go over to a drink table and we grab a drink. "I like this drink." I say feeling dizzy. Alex looks at me through his glass.
"You look dizzy, here" Alex puts his arm around me and sways me around. I start laughing.
"This isn't helping Alex!" I say giggling. He chuckles and stops. I feel a tap on my back and I turn around, looking at a guy with brown hair, and light purple eyes. "Yes?" I ask him. He looks at me and then Alex.
"U-Um, may you dance with m-me for o-one dance?" He stutters out. Me and Alex look at each other and then back at the man.
"S-Sure.." I say looking back at Alex, "Don't worry! I won't fall for him!" I say kissing Alex's cheek and then running over to the guy. The guy has a smile on his face. We start to dance,
"Ok, my name is Aaron and I needed to tell you something important," Aaron whispers to me, "You have to stick by Alex all tonight." He says seriously. I look at him confused.
"What do you mean?" I ask him, my tail flicking around.
"The princess wants him, and she has the guards out to keep you away from him, and I mean, I am keeping you away from him to tell you this. Now go Tora. Go stay by him. I will see you another time." Aaron hugs me and walks through the crowd of people, and I lose sight of him. I walk back over to Alex.
"How was your dance?" He says. I sit down by him and I kiss his cheek again.
"His name was Aaron, and he had to tell me something." I say to Alex. Alex looks at me confused. I sigh, "The princess wants you to be her prince and she ordered the guards to make me not stay by you so she could talk to you. And Aaron wasn't a guard, he was telling me this." Alex raises his eyebrows and then hugs me tightly. After the hug we go to the dance floor. We get ready to dance and the music starts. We both dance and laugh when we trip on each others feet.
"Excuse me m'lady?" I hear somebody say behind me. I look behind me to see a guard.
"Yes?" I ask him politely. He looks at Alex.
"We need to see you." He says to me. My eyes go wide.
Shit! What do I do?! I think and then I remember.
"Of course, but he is coming with me." I tell the guard.
"No, you are coming alone." The guard says grabbing my dress.
"If he doesn't come with me, I won't cooperate!" I yell at the guard. The guard stops and puts down my dress.
"It's too late anyways." He says looking down. I look at him confused, and then I go back to Alex.
"Ladies and Gents! May I be proud to present you, Princess Skye!" I hear the announcer say as she comes on stage. Everybody claps and Alex and I find a seat to sit in. The princess laughs.
"Thank you! Thank you! I am proud to present to you, my choice of a man to become my beloved prince. Of course there has been many men come to this party with woman of their own, but one of them might be chosen." She says looking at Alex and winking. My ears go down, knowing that Alex won't be mine anymore. I look at Alex and he sees I am sad. He kisses my cheek and looks back up.
"Now, there is one person I have in mind, and yes, he does a lady. But he can forget her right? Like she ever mattered to him anyways!" The princess laughs, hoping people would join with her. But nobody did. I look down, almost crying. I looked at Alex's clenched fists. "Now now, back to business! The man that will become prince is.."
