When I awoke I couldn't remember a thing. My head was fuzzy, and I didn't know where I was at. The bed I woke up in was large and super soft with red velvet sheets. I felt warm and safe inside them. The pillows felt like they were stuffed with clouds. Nothing could break the peace I felt.
"I see you're awake. Finally. I began to worry you wouldn't." A strange calm males voice called from the foot of the bed.
I wanted to pretend I was asleep, but the more I laid there the more uncomfortable I felt. I could feel his eyes staring at me through the blankets. Defeated I sat up in bed to find a very attractive man standing in front of me with a neutral look on his face. He was very tall, super buff from the look at the definition showing through his shirt, and his eyes were a beautiful set of ruby red diamonds. The dark hair he had framed his face elegantly while the other features of his face seemed perfectly sculpted by the finest artists that ever lived.
"I'm afraid last night I didn't get the chance to introduce myself properly before you fainted." He said politely with a forced smile. "My name is Leon Nealer. And your name is miss?" He asked gesturing to me.
"Catharine Becks.... where am I?"
Introducing myself wasn't the first thing I wanted to do. I didn't know this man, nor did I want to. I wanted to get out of this strange place. Leon just stared at me with his fake smile as if he was on business. He wore a nice black button up shirt, with well fitted dark blue jeans, and black leather boots.
"First I want you to tell me about last night Catharine. I want you to tell me what all happened before I found you on the side of the road."
The side of the road? Wait that's right! I was going on a stake out and strange murderous creatures attacked us. I ran as far as I could without looking back. Even now I felt my heart race at the images of those horrible monsters. And my friends? Did they get out?
"Did you pick up anyone else? Did you find anyone else?" I yelled jumping out of the bed.
Surely if he saw me my friends couldn't be that far behind. They all were gifted with athletic abilities except for Tori. But I knew the boys wouldn't have left her alone.
In my attempt to get some information out of Leon he looked at me with a saddened expression.
"No... you didn't... you didn't find them dead did you?" My words shook as they left my mouth. I felt like falling again. My knees wobbling beneath me.
Leon noticed I was about to fall and moved accordingly to sit me back down on the bed. When I sat down I looked back up at him for some answers. Tears swimming in my eyes as I waited for the worst possible thing for him to say.
"We found no one within a hundred mile radius from you. They could have gotten away from whatever it was you were running from." He tried to reassure me with hope. To be honest I'm not sure what I would have rather heard. Them being dead or missing. Of course there's a chance they'd still be alive if their only missing, however, then there's the haunting question mark of what happened to them.
Suddenly I was over come with a large amount of guilt for running so fast. I lowered my head in disappointment with myself. How could I have been so dumb?
"I understand this is a hard time for you. But it is imperative that you tell me what happened to you and your friends last night." He spoke in a gentle tone.
I looked back up at his face. Memorizing every glorious detail. From the stubble on his law line to the deep red in his eyes. The red. It was so much like a vampires. And his beauty, it was so far beyond normal human looks. This only meant...
