Hush now, rest.
_______________________________________Watching the human struggle had truly piqued her interest, she slowly began to hover nearby to inspect this reaction. The one question laying on her mind was shifting. After so long, could she really do it?
Before even thinking more about it, she began, feeling bones loudly crack and fuse together again. The feeling wasn't painful, it was almost a pleasurable sensation. She would have to get used to walking again though, she thought.
Hovering over harold the ever so kind human, she reached for his face, and gazed into those eyes full of pain and fear. Painstakingly Slow, she brought her mouth as close as she could get to his ear and whispered, "Hush now, rest, for I've heard your promise to keep life in you." Then a large grin swept across her face as she began to drain him,"Your life holds much value, bless you for serving the demon realm."
Then a single kiss to his cheek left him pale and void of color, he stopped struggling, and his eyes lost their luster. Her master will be greatly pleased.
As she reveled in this moment she was startled after the door was banged on from the outside until someone came barging in. Harold was partially blocking the door, while a person called his name, asking if he was okay. The mocking bird across from her was squawking loudly, and Harold was rolled over from the pressure of the door being pushed.
But by then Harold wasn't breathing and was already pale as a sheet. The lady that appeared in front of the door was one from next door. She was Meghan from across the hall, and she was around her late thirties. By the time she barged in and seen Harold, Rae was transformed once again, hiding her abnormal blood res eyes after holding his soul. Her obvious reaction was to call his name and check his pulse.
"Harold! Harold! Oh God let's hope you make it!" Meghan began calling someone and the responder asked for her to calm down as she requested an ambulance to the apartment.

The television could be heard echoing throughout the apartment just a couple hours later.
"At five o'clock this evening, a neighbor hea red d screaming from the apartment across from her. The man who resided there was Harold Nachster. He was pronounced dead, he was suffering for around about fifteen minutes of his heart not properly pumping blood through his veins. Sadly, Harold's family is very devastated about his death and will be planning the funeral for this man, who was a father, grandpa, and a graciously kind human."
then it began to rain. No, pour. almost as if the Lord himself were crying, and the world turned upside down. And let the oceans and rivers flood from above to fill the delves and holes below.
After Harolds death, his grandson Robbie who went bird watching with him arrived. He began by searching the apartment for anything of value, and moved things out for another resident to reside there.
But the first thing he noticed was one of the empty bird cages and the brown and white bird sitting in one of them. The fireplace was off, and grandpa's favorite recliner was leaned back farther than usual. Robbie reached quickly for the door of the first little brown birds cage, and locked the small door. All the while the Rae was sat patiently on her swing, with the large door ajar.
He went to close the large ravens door, but before he could move he began talking to Rae, "So you must be that pretty raven gramps was taking about, huh," He smiled tearfully, "He told me all about you on the phone." He said to Rae almost condesendingly, but as he was staring at the large black bird, the front door opened letting in a gush of warm air. Then another human was heard loudly chatting to another person.
This was her chance, so she took it, she was pent up, locked away, yet admired and loved by her caretaker. But she was ready to leave and she did. Rae cawed and found an opening through the door as the person was talking to the other, and she was free. she flew upwards and the wind carried her far away. Feeling the all too familiar feeling of heavy rain and dusky gray skies.
