The Raven

Chapter Five

Accept her song or his dance of death.

    It was still not his time, but Rae knew he would soon have power, and walk amongst the humans again. But before she could do this, she herself needed power. A power that could feed and harvest of off the sorrow and pain of others. This power was not easy to find, she needed a hardened person, someone who has seen the filthy horrors of this world.

Then She saw her.

    The bearer, the keeper and being that Rae would inhabit. She was beautiful, and that would be her advantage to hurt many.

     She had warm black hair, pale skin like a porcelain doll, and wore a nurses uniform in burgandy. She was sure this was her being, as she felt the tug that her master would send to tell her something. This was not a warning, it was a helping hand from her lord.

    As the nurse began checking the clipboard at the end of the pale blue hospital bed, the shifter took the chance. She connected to her brain and possessed her, her head knocked backward and the humans neck cracked disturbingly. She hoped no one would see as she would have to kill them for seeing such a disturbing sight. She felt right in this body, it wasn't easy getting used to such a odd body weight, and stance. But Rae was very determined to play out her masters orders and bring peace to the poor souls like the one before her now.

    After looking through the thick lashes and glassy eyes of the beautiful human she possessed. Rae leaned down towards the sleeping Thomas she would sing to. And began to hum the hymn she was taught many moons ago.

"Hush now and rest. For we will be together. "

    She waited for a response for the soul to be collected, and then she heard it question, "Truthfully forever?"

    Rae smiled sickingley sweet and rubbed the crown of his head soothingly. Then spoke, "Yes, eternally and forevermore my child. "

    She kissed his cheek that was beginning to turn cold, she was pleased to lift his soul. He was a great man in his life yet master said his time was up, and Rae could understand why. For how long Rae had been a servant and possessing being, humans always acted oddly, some selfish, heavy and crying hearts, and some with angry and burning hearts, that made others the same.

    She turned her back just as he omitted his last breath, peeking out before opening the door to the hallway and walking down the quiet corridor. Angels arriving to catch her in the act hadn't ever crossed her mind. The long hallway reeked of cleansers and antiseptic, but that didn't deter her from finding something inconspicuous to don. It was going to be soon that she'd run into another nurse or be caught skulking around.

    Upon turning a sharp right corner lockers lined the walls, and a heavy set of keys were felt in the newly stolen bodies pockets, sprouting an idea. Changing clothes might've been easier than I thought.

    Finding the humans clothes weren't the poblem, but finding clothes that fit and not be clearly identified in was a new task. After finding suitable clothes, she traced her own scent back to thomas' room and softly smiled at her work.

    She began shifting as she didn't want to be caught in this body and lose it, but before that she covered Thomas with a white sheet. She wanted to leave traces. It was very amusing to watch humans try and figure out what happened by a simple finger print.

    She smiled, and held her hand over her chest. Imaging what her partner was doing now, and if he was doing as well as her. She walked over to the large sized window across from the bed and pushed the panes open. She began to perch herself on the ledge, before turning around for a final glance at her work.

    Her escape from that house was just the beginning. There's going to be a war soon. And her master was ready this time.
