The
Good Girl
Project
Chapter Twenty Six
Best Part
You're the coffee that I need in the morning. You're my sunshine in the rain when it's pouring. Won't you give yourself to me? Give it all. I just wanna see, I just wanna see how beautiful you are. You know that I see it. I know you're a star. Where you go I'll follow, no matter how far. If life is a movie, oh you're the best part.- Daniel Caesar ft. H.E.R
"Thank you all for participating in this traditional project. I hope you made it a memorable one boys seeing as this is your last one. Girls you too, although some of you probably were upset that you had to participate and even more upset with who you had to live with, I see that most of you are more acquainted with one another." Coach said.
"Speak for yourself." One of the girls said aloud. Everyone laughed at her. Carter squeezed my hand and kissed my temple.
"You look radiant today Ms. Martinez." Coach smiled at me. I could feel my face heating up as he looked at me.
"That's all me and just to so we're clear, she's off limits to everyone." Carter said to everyone as they walked away. "You really do look beautiful though. Are those new pants?"
I had on a white crochet crop top with some royal blue bell bottom trousers and some brown sandals. My hair consisted of a half up, half down hairstyle and I minimal make up on. I only wore make up when I was in an extremely good mood now a days . So yep I sure was in a good mood today.
"No they are not new. I've had these for the longest. Just never felt the need to wear them. They are pretty pants which means they're only worn when I really wanna feel girly." I smiled and Carter laughed at me. He threw his arm around my shoulders and we proceeded to walk out of the auditorium.
"Hey Carter, Evelyn! Party at my house at eight?" Rich said running past us.
"But its Monday." I said.
"Don't worry. It's just going to be the people who were apart of the project. So I'll see you there?"
"Yeah dude." Carter replied and Rich ran off.
"Uh no dude. You can go. I have two quizzes and a test tomorrow and I need my mind not hungover."
"Yes ma'am." Carter pulled me flush against his body and kissed me passionately. I smiled against his lips and laughed as we pulled away from each other.
"Ready for some lunch? I hear they have chicken nuggets and potatoes."
"Ooh exciting as that sounds, I am having lunch with my father, remember?" I said running my hands through his hair.
"Aw, damn... and I was so looking forward to you feeding me."
"Yeah I know but duty calls. I'll see you after school though?"
"I guess so. You hurry back now. Don't go loving someone new alright?"
"Well seeing as I already love my father, but I won't make any promises.." I trailed off with an innocent smile. Carter frowned.
"That's not funny at all."
"It's just a joke babe. Now let me go before I'm late." I said pulling out his loose grip.
"Alright, let me know when you get there."
"Will do sir!" I said and proceeded to walk out of the school doors and to my car.
