Chapter 8- November 24rd, 2016
"There's a story behind everything. How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is always your mother's story, because her's is where yours began."
-Mitch Albom, For One More Day

Each chapter of a book is a story. A small part in something large. Like a short yet important story in life.

I thought this story was gonna be a short, strict story, I thought that I had it all planned out. Little did I know, Everett King was not just the love interest in a story that would last six months. He would be the heartbreaker in that story.

Or maybe I would be.

But our story was a bittersweet one. Because maybe we were both the heartbreaker.

Anyways, here's the next chapter I told in my 'strict and short' love story.

"Wait," Saffron scrunched up her face in disbelief. "So you're telling me you, Emerson Belle Amor, skipped school, just to hang out with a boy?"

Ugh, that sounds so not me, the only reasonable voice in my head sighed.

"Well when you put it that way," I turned to face her, with my books in my arms, and gave her a sheepish shrug.

In reply she smacked me over the top of the head with her book. Luckily it was a soft cover. Still, I rubbed my head and frowned.

"Didn't you just meet Everett not even two weeks ago?" Saffron questioned as she got her own books out of her locker. "And I don't want to sound mean or anything babe, but you aren't even the type of person to meet new people."

I tried to brush off what she said, fully knowing she was right. But I just has to act like someone I wasn't.

Yet, I should've of just stayed true to myself and everyone around me.

"Yea, but I feel like I need something exciting in my life Saf. That's why I ditched with him yesterday." I saw the look of concern in her eyes, she knew me to well and knew I was lying. "Don't worry about me." I nudged her jokingly as we walked into our English class.

One of the classes I just so happened to share with Everett too.

My eyes quickly scanned the almost full classroom, looking for the brown haired boy, all well I was also walking to Saffron and I's spot.

I stood frozen when I finally reached my desk and frowned, and it wasn't because I couldn't find him.

It was because I did find him.

It seemed as if my weak brown eyes weren't strong enough to create a gaze that would make him look at me. Or maybe he just didn't want to look at me. Because Everett was too occupied with his notebook.

I stared at him for another long second, noticing the way his whole face was crunched together adorably in concentration. It seemed that Everett was scribbling stuff furiously into his notebook.

I sat beside Saffron and we talked for a few minutes about random stuff, including Halloween, the latest episode of Scream Queens, and shockingly Austin Sutton.
