Power in His Name

Warmth
Is all the world will feel

Frozen
Is all I can sense

Smiles
Is all the public will see

Laughter
Is all society will hear

Frowns
Are what the mirror reflects

Cries
Screech from the person in me

I make everyone happy
I bring them joy
But what they don't know
Is that I'm crumbling
I fight the battle of sin
I try to put it on myself
So no one else will suffer
I take the weight off the scale
And add it to my own

I make everyone happy
So they don't have to feel
What I'm feeling
So they don't have to see
What I'm seeing
So they don't have to hear
What I'm hearing

But I'm not alone
I don't have to do it alone
I have my Savior
I feel guilt putting my shame on Him
Taking on His righteousness
And leaving Him imperfect
When He's the only one who's pure
I didn't accept His gift
And it destroyed me
Until I gave in
When it was too much
When He lifted the weight
When He rescued me
When He saved
And all I had to do was call
His name
