Kaylee's POV

A few months later, Gracie had come home and we were more settled in.

We had finished the house a few days ago, except that secret room. Hunter and I still don't know what to do with it.

I also found a job, working at a daycare in town. It was nice because I could take Gracie with me.

Gracie has recovered, and is perfectly fine now. But I did. Get rid of all the peanut butter and peanut products.

Sam, Hunter, and I have become very close friends. We will occasionally go out and eat or just hang at someone's place.

Gracie's first birthday is coming up, in a week, and I had yet to start planning.

That's what I planned to do today. I had a day off from work, so I quickly got dressed in a pair of black sweat pants and a red t-shirt that had a pair of converse on it.

Then I brushed my curly hair and put it in a ponytail.

Then I checked on Gracie. She was still sleeping peacefully in her crib.

Looking around her room, I couldn't believe how well it turned out. Hunter had helped me finish my apartment, along with Sam. It took longer than I thought, but it looks amazing.

Gracie's room is the light pink she picked out, and has a whole bunch of elephants on the walls. I got some of the wall stickers that were more, kid-like, and used them in her room.

Gracie loves elephants, so I thought I'd make her room elephant themed. She loves it.

Along with the elephant stickers, she has a small rocking chair for her and a huge stuffed elephant Hunter bought her.

I'm not sure where he got the elephant, but it was adorable.

It was this huge, gray, fluffy elephant that she could sit and ride. It sat in the corner of her room because it didn't fit anywhere else.

Sometimes she will just sit on it and laugh.

I shut the door and let her sleep since it was still early. Then I headed into my bedroom. I grabbed my speaker, and plugged my phone in. I clicked on my playlist and hit shuffle.

Little Bird by Ed Sheeran came on. The I grabbed my notebook and began to plan things out.

I decided to do elephant themed, because I knew I couldn't go wrong with that. Then I searched online for some decorations, and ordered some plates, napkins, and other party decor.

Once I ordered those, I tried to figure out how I would make her cake. I have always made my cake every year since I was about 15. So when I had Gracie, I knew I would do that with her too.

I drew out a sketch of an idea for her cake. It would be a green sheet cake with some grass piped on it, with a small cake elephant decorated on top. Then I would pipe Happy First Birthday Gracie! on it.

That would be for everyone who comes. Her smash cake, as I call it, would be an elephant face, and it would be chocolate cake. She loved anything chocolate.

I had already invited family and friends to her party this weekend. I had plenty of time since it was Monday.

I couldn't believe my baby was growing up. She has been growing up so fast. She can almost walk around. She is making more and more effort to talk and walk around. She can stand up and walk around with help of the table or chairs.

I placed my notebook back down on my blue bedspread and walked into Gracie's room. She was sitting up, playing with her stuffed elephant. Now she carries that thing around everywhere.
