"What do we do?" Fallowwing asked. "We can't let her stay; she'll quench the light." LightClan's first medicine cat paced restlessly in the clearing, surrounded by other StarClan ancestors.
"What can we do, is the question. She is innocent as of now...." Swallowheart meowed.
"We must act!" the medicine cat hissed. "I won't let her destroy LightClan. I know she's a good cat, believe me, I do. But if what we've seen in the stars comes true, her destiny will interfere with an important prophecy."
"What's going on here?" Redstar asked as he padded up. The red tom was the leader before Willowstar, and also her mentor.
"We're apparently discussing some future stuff." Swallowheart sighed. "About that one she-cat."
"We have to do something! I can see the disaster this holds. StarClan must step in, just this once, and stop the coming darkness.
"You know that's not how StarClan works...." Redstar meowed.
"Fallowwing does have a point... but so do you Redstar." Swallowheart meowed. "We must be fair to her; she will be taken away, but she will lead a fulfilling life elsewhere. And then, perhaps, someday she can come back."
Both cats looked unhappy with the decision. "She will never come back!" Fallowwing hissed.
"She must be able to return!" Redstar exclaimed.
"If she proves herself, she may. Or, she may find her own path." Redstar chipped in. "All we can do is wait for the best. Besides, the time for actions is not now... it is later. If we truly want to be successful, this is not the moment in which to proceed."
Daylight breaks over the treetops and other StarClan cats start waking up, so the three cats bid their goodbyes.
