I held onto Nyx's body while I inhale her lavender scent. I sob into her neck knowing I was late.
I was too damn late to save her. I stroke her pale cheek. I saw everyone standing around.
"Is this what you wanted? You priestess slain in front of your eyes! Well you've got it!" I yell.
"Now we'll give her a proper burial, where she'll be remembered." I demand. Everyone gathered around me.
Everyone went away to pale her burial, I was dressed in all black. Her body was taken to be cleaned and taken care off.
Chris stood in the shadows, he walks toward me with a black envelope in hand.
"Ah Ryan Nyx left you a letter." He says while I rip it open.
I nod and thank him.
My Dearest Ryan,
If you're reading this it means that I died by drinking hemlock. I know I'm gone but I'll always be with you. No matter what.
Thank you for loving me and loving me, protecting me. But don't despair, I'll always love you.
We'll meet again in another lifetime. When I die, just keep in mind, I'll love you in another life.
Until we meet again. Ryan bury me on a bed of roses down the river.

I finished the letter, while I smile to myself. Nyx was always a tease. I remember when I first walked in on her bathing, when I held the towel open for her and we shared our first kiss.
Her swirly tattoos were always intriguing. How her tattoos would shine blue under the moonlight. Her beauty was something that couLdn't be described.
But now it was empty without her. We walk outside, I carry her toward the river and lay her down on the bed of roses.
Chris, Balz, Vinny and I were crowded around, the canoe was made out of black wood.
I walk into the water and push it into the water. I watch it float down the bank, I sigh.
"She lives on in all of us!" Chris says and I nod.
We stood around, while we all went out separate way.
Nyx was dead and it was over. Ryan got to be the next high priest while grieving his beloved priestess. Their destiny was written in the stars, they would meet in the near future.
Nyx watched over her beloved, as his guardian. She made sure to protect him. Their love is pure and strong. No evil, no darkness can destroy it.
Her duty was fulfilled and she always made sure that Ryan had happiness. Her only wish was to meet Ryan in another life time.
But they both knew it would be.....
