"Welcome to detention. Well what a selection. Why don't we start off by saying why we're here." Mrs. Cage greeted them at the door.
Once they were seated, Mrs. Cage looked at Brandon, signaling him to start first.
"So, my name's Brandon. Me and Angelo here glued crap to Ms. Harry's desk." He snickered before high diving Angelo.
"Yeah same." Angelo said.
Mrs. Cage shook her head before looking at Laurie.
"I started a fight, apparently." She said.
"And I ended it." Nadia cut in.
"Lilayah?" Mrs. Cage asked.
"All I did was tell Mr. Riley that he was wrong and I was right." She shrugged.
"Oh and I was just defending her." Maya pouted playfully.

Mrs. Cage clasped her hands together.
"Well looks like we've got quite an army here, where are all of y'all from, like heritage."
"My dad's from Oklahoma and his parents are from Haiti. My mom's white." Brandon said.
"My parents are Rican." Angelo spoke.
"Uh, I'm white." Laurie said as if it was plain knowledge.
"No shit Sherlock." Nadia whispered under her breath.
"What was that?" Laurie said loudly.
"My parents are Bengali." Nadia said even louder.
"My father is Jamaican and my mother also Jamaican." Lilayah said quietly.
"Both of my parents are South Korean." Maya added.
"And me, my mom is Filipino and my dad is white." Mrs. Cage informed them.
"Cool." Angelo said before clicking away at his phone.
"Angelo put your phone away." Mrs. Cage tsked. "Anyway, think of a problem that many people face."
"Ugh I didn't come here to do more work." Laurie groaned.
"Exactly, you came here because you were sent here for being ignorant." Mrs. Cage snapped at her. "Anyway, let's answer the question shall we."
"Trump being president." Nadia said.
"How so?" Mrs. Cage asked.
"Well how the hell is he supposed to deport me if I was born here?" She laughed spitefully. "And Muslim people aren't terrorists. It's in the Quran - our holy book-"
"Like the Bible?" Angelo cut in.
"Yeah sure." She replied. "Anyway, it says that a Muslim person can't harm anyone, or else they aren't Muslim so there is no such thing as a Muslim terrorist." Nadia took a deep breath.

"It's kind of scary being a black woman." Lilayah spoke up.
"How so?" Mrs. Cage asked.
"Well first, if you show any assertiveness you'd be called an angry black woman, but if you were a white woman than its different. And there's a large possibility I'll be cat called when I'm walking, or I'd be hated on."
Mrs. Cage nodded. "Well, unfortunately that's time."
A few groans were heard around the room.
"Tell you what, tomorrow stay after." Mrs. Cage winked at us before shooing us out of her classroom.

A/N: So I've started a new book. Hopefully you guys like this. It took a lot of heart and patience...a lot of emotion went into this chapter and I'm having a lot of fun writing it. Putting in background of people, and their feelings. I hope you guys actually read this chapter, and take into consideration what these people go through on a daily basis.
