***Nadia***
"Hey guys." I said as I plopped down on the seat.
Brandon looked up from his pizza to wave at me and Angelo kept his eyes trained on his phone.
"Tough crowd." I mumbled with a smirk.
"Nadia! Hi!" An energetic voice said from behind me.
"Oh hey Maya." I replied biting down into my pizza.
She took a seat next to me and pulled out a plastic bag.
"What do you have for lunch today?" I asked her.
What? Never said I was good at small talk.
"Oh I have a burrito and some chips." She replied before holding out a potato chip for me.
I shook my head. "No thanks."
She shrugged and ate the chip.
"Sup losers." Laurie grinned from behind. I stifled a groan. She chose a seat next to Maya before picking at her nails.
"So how's it going?" Seems like the queen herself sucks at small talk, too.
"You guys don't have to be so awkward." Angelo laughed.
"I wasn't being awkward!" Laurie shot back quickly. I stifled a giggle. Angelo must've caught it because he looked at me with a grin.
I grinned back at him before taking another bite from my pizza.
"Hey Lilayah!" Maya called.
From the entrance of the lunchroom Lilayah walked over and sat down. "Hey guys." As greeted.I felt eyes on me so I turned around to see Jason and his friends watching me. Jason waved at me and I couldn't help but get angry.
I flipped him the bird before turning my attention to my tray.
Brandon seemed to detect my anger because he signaled me to meet him at the door. I nodded and got up to throw away my tray.
Once I met him outside he led me towards the library.
"So, you gonna tell me what happened back there?" He raised his eyebrow so I told him everything.
From Laurie wanting to punch me for 'stealing her man' to him cheating on me with some girl named Leah.
"Damn." He said when I was done. "Well we should be getting back."
"Or, we could just go straight to class?" I suggested before walking towards math.
"Ah good idea." He said before following me.
