Xavier POV

Recap:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I climbed to the top of Farryns balcony, my mates sent was very strong here, but she was nowhere to be seen. I heard retching in the bathroom and cringed at the sound. Farryns mother came in looking worried and into the bathroom. What if my mate was sick? Maybe that's why she passed out last night? She had to be, it was the only explanation. But, how did she know Farryn? I shook my head and climbed back down. It was already one in the afternoon, so there was no point in going back to school. So instead I headed to the Packhouse to check up on some things. I went down the flights of stair and got to the grand, French doors. I pushed them both open and walked in, smiling.
"Hello..."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Hello." Her voice was gruff and dusty.

"It's awfully dreary down here don't you think? Could use a bit of color." There were scratch marks covering every wall. This woman was insane, every vision that came to her drove her closer to the madness that deteriorated her mind.

"So Seer, what do you want? You called me here, why?" She chuckled lightly.

"That I did Alpha. That I did." I felt the venom in her voice reach deep into my body and make me want to gag. She smelled foul, no doubt from being in here for so long; her body had begun to deteriorate long ago. There was nothing left that I could do for her.

"I have nothing left to give you, you wished to be here, alone. Forbidden to see the sun and outside world. Why must you insist on making it seem any other way?" I pardoned her for her crimes. But, for her, it was never enough.

"Because it is what I deserve. No less than any who has done what I have, it was my responsibility and I failed. There is nothing left for me. Nothing that can save me. But there is much that can save you." I scoffed at her request.

"You have no power over me." Her cackle was louder than a gunshot,

"Oh, my dear Alpha. You have no idea, do you? See what that little mate of yours is doing. She may not be all that you hope." I growled and pinned her against the wall. When her finger touched my temple I was flashed somewhere different.\

------

A scream echoed through the forest, the darkness showed no mercy as it claimed life after life. Bodies crumpled around me and fog lifted them away. In the center of the dark a flicker of light, a man, and woman sitting silently against a tree weeping.

"Dark the oceans, dark the sky. Hush the Wales and the ocean tide.." His voice was dry and gruff while he made the effort to sing. The woman wept in his arms blood covering her body, the slick oil like substance forming in pools around her.

"I love you," He rasped and his song ended suddenly. The wail of pain from a death echoed around as she screamed, silent tears coming down her face. I couldn't move, I was frozen to the spot. This woman she was so familiar but I couldn't see her face. I was too far. the dark was becoming too much, it began to cave around me, pulling me into it.

------

I gasped as I came out of the Vision and seethed at the pain in my head.

"Jesus," I backed away while she smiled, she always had a way to make me come back. I stormed out and paced in my office until dark.

------

I changed into clothes that I could fight in. I had on a black, crew neck shirt and some simple cargo pants that had a gun and some extra bullet in case we ran into someone that wasn't supposed to be there. Ever since the attack we have all been on guard and carrying around guns with us, yes, we were wolves; but that didn't seem to have a single effect on our killer. There wasn't a single sent there besides my mates, but she couldn't have done it. She had yet to do more than injure my pack members, she never killed.

As far as we knew.

When I stepped outside I felt the wind pick up, my head drifted to the moon it was a waxing crescent.

By the full moon, I intended to have my mate in my arms and the Luna ceremony happening. There was no way anything could ruin it. I was ready and I would do anything to get her.

I mind-linked a few of my pack members and we all set out to go get my mystery mate. The forest was quiet tonight, it was always full of noise. I remembered when laughter filled the trees and parents sat in the yards while the kids all held their 'own pack' in the middle of the woods. It was fun, but everything always had to come to an end, even something as fun as that. I brushed my hand along the tree trying to feel if my mate was here. She wasn't, yet. Her body was lingering at the edge of the forest, we needed her inside the forest for our plan.

"Come on!" I whisper shouted as I waited for her to make the first move.

"Come on damn it!" I shouted and released the tree.

"We have to do this without her being in the forest, she's not coming in. " My beta took one look at me before sending me a message through mind link

 'you really love her don't you?' I chuckled.

 'is it that obvious?' I couldn't be sure but I thought he was smiling in the dark

'Only cuz, I have been through that bud.' I held my breath when I felt a cool breeze fly by me mixed with the sent of old milk in the air.

"Vampire." My tracker said.

"Yeah. We have bigger problems than my mate, he was headed right for the pack. We have to kill him before he gets there." Each of us took off in different directions, we stayed within eyesight of each other but far enough to cut him off from every angle. I stopped moving when a nearby tree was toppled over. The Vamps sent was gone.

"Sir, it is like he disappeared. But that couldn't happen. Unless. Shit. He's a..." I nodded

"Yup. He's an original. Run!" I screamed and we all bolted back to the pack. We could be safe there. There was no way that he could get through all of us. I would have to put the whole pack on lockdown.

"Sir, what about the Elder? She has her family there and they don't know what they're up against." I nodded. Hopefully, they could make it through the night.
