Xavier's POV:

I needed that, punching that bag I mean. Not the shower. Don't get me wrong it was nice but seriously that workout was great! Now I was all warmed up to knock that fuckface out. Forest time baby!

"Vex! Come out here!" I knew that this was stupid and would not end well for me, but it was the best thing that I could do. I needed to figure her out. What the hell as going on with the two of them?

"You called," I whipped my body around, Vex was seated on a low hanging branch behind me in some tree.

'Talk about low hanging fruit.'

'Thaddeus I dont think you really know what that means. Either way this is not the time for jokes, we are here for serious business.'

'Sorry.'

"I need to know about Farryn,"

"Why? She can tell you now that you have that collar on her."

"She's not waking up."

'He didn't know that.' Thaddeus popped into my head, he is always better at reading people than I am.

'Thaddeus, what do you mean?'

'His face, it changed when you told him that he didn't know that she wasn't okay.'

"Give her time." he couldn't possibly be serious. There was no way that I could just leave my mate alone inside her head for any longer. God knows what she was thinking about. I needed answers and whether he was giving them to me or not was all I needed him to tell me.

"I've waited long enough. Tell me what I want to know!"

"Patience, young grasshopper.." he was joking, he was actually kidding me. There was no way in hell that he was serious right now.

"Can you shut the fuck up?"

"Well someone's a little testy today. Listen pup, if you want to know..."

"I do."

"Take the collar off her and destroy it."

"Why would I ever do something like that. It's the only way that I can keep her near me, and you are giving me no reason to trust her with you around."

"And why is that?"

"Because clearly there is something between you, and I want to know what it is."

"That's not what you need to know now is it?"

"I need to know everything about my mate so that I can help her."

"Help her? She doesn't want to be helped. Trust me on that one."

"I don't believe that. Not for a second."

"Then she should be all the more willing to talk to you. Check on her in another day. If she's not awake by midnight tomorrow call me and I'll figure out what's wrong."

"We have highly trained..."

"Doctors? Yeah, they don't know who or what she is... neither do you. Lucky for you, I do. So if she's not awake call me. Same place?"

"Fine."

"Good. Choa!" That freaking vamp had to stop getting on my nerves. As much as I hated it I needed him.

------

Vex POV

That pup got on my nerves to no end. Why couldn't he be patient? Why couldn't he just do what I said and avoid future problems? As much as I hated him I needed him. I needed to stay close to Farryn. Especially with recent events coming up. Now I just had to get that collar off of her and get her away from that Alpha, he can't be snooping.

------

Farryn POV:

"Farryn, I just wanted you to know that if you need to leave me that's okay. I mean, I don't want you to go, in fact, I really need you here. But if you need to go then I won't be mad at you." that was my mom, she couldn't have been here for long but she had gone from wanting me to live, to crying, to silence, and now she was okay with me dying. She was letting me die, she was okay with it, but was I? I mean a few days ago, I think it was a few days ago, I would have taken that as a one-way ticket out of here. But now, I didn't know what I'd see. Would my dad be upset, would my brother? What would I see if I died? I just didn't know if I wanted to die so much anymore.

"You need to know that I will be okay, Jacob will be too. Alright? We will make it, just please if you can come home to me please come home to me."

"Mom I'm not going to leave you. Mom, I will never leave you."

"If only she could hear you," I spun around as fast as I could. Vex was here.

"How the fuck? How are you here right now?"

"Honestly? You don't want to know."

"I think I do."

"Anyway, your mate won't give it a rest, when you wake up you need to get that collar off as fast as you can."

'I have a collar on?!"

"Yeah. Yeah, you do, I personally think that's why you are still in a coma." Well, that was just shitty.

"How am I supposed to tell him to take it off if I'm stuck in here?"

"That's where I come in. I am going to force you awake, it's gonna hurt like a bitch and you might break a few bones but you'll be awake."

"How long will I have?"

"Maybe 10 minutes, just hurry. Wait until you hear him come in, he should be in any minute now." I nodded turning away, I couldn't see what was going on around me, but I could hear, and I could sort of feel. I mean, I knew that my mom was holding my hand. If she was squeezing me I couldn't tell but there was some contact.

"Farryn, good luck."

"Why are you doing this Vex?"

"Because I think I've been on the wrong team this whole time." With that he was gone, but I had no idea what he meant, I always thought Vex was on his own, sure he was rich and that accounted for the henchmen, but I never knew he was on a team. Did he mean a team or just the wrong side? Man was I confused, I had no idea what the hell he was talking about.

"Knock Knock." That had to be Xavier, it was a man's voice. Nobody else would come in, right?

"Hello doctor, I am Farryns mom, how had she been doing."

"Really well. We've been giving her some treatments to try and help her recover the best that she can so we can get her out of this coma."

"Good. Good. If you'll excuse me I have to go pick my son up from school."

"Alright, have a wonderful day ma'am."

"You as well." There was a short pause on the conversation then some shuffling.

"Xavier, you can come on in."

"Is it time for another treatment?"

"Yeah, she has three left and I think they're working."

"What tells you that she's still in a coma."

"Yes but he has gained some important functions back, she has shown some responses to touch."

"Good?"

"Very, if you want you can stay for the treatment then visiting hours close."

"Not for me they don't." What the hell did that mean, of course they were going to close for him.

"Whatever you say, Alpha." Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit to infinity. I felt the pick of the needle into my arm and a jolt of sparks. Vex was waking me up, at least I think that's what he was doing.
