What inspired you to write your book
I was inspired by another book called Thirteen Reasons Why. In that book, a boy figures out the reason behind a girls suicide by listening to tapes she recorded before her death. I took the same idea of solving the mystery behind a suicide, and tried to put an even darker spin on it, while also making it a ghost story.
Have you ever recived hate? If so how do you deal with it?
Yes, I have received some hate. Whenever I get a hateful comment or message, I usually just go and read some of the more positive comments people have left. It helps remind me that even though that one particular person didn't like my work, there are still others that do.
How did you come up with the plot and title
At first the book was called Two-Faced, because my idea was to have the ghost possess Liz (the main character) at the very beginning, causing her to have two personalities. I kind of realized that Two-Faced wasn't a very good title, and changed it to The Girl in the Mirror. As for the plot, I'm coming up with it as I go along. I know how the story is going to end, but I'm just making it up chapter by chapter until I get there.
What books would you tell your readers to read
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher is an amazing book. And on Wattpad, I would suggest The Bird and the Moth by@geeghoul, and Within These Walls by@Hope-Adon
Are there any writers who have grasped you intress
I think John Green is an amazing writer, and he is one of my biggest role-models. On Wattpad, my favorite writer has to be my friend@geeghoul. I featured her as a character in The Girl in the Mirror, and we became great friends after that. Her writing is magnificent.
Any advice for writers who are also writing a horror story
Just don't be afraid to make things gory and freaky, especially if it's a death scene. I also suggest making some parts of the story not so scary, so the scary parts will seem scarier by comparison.
