Kodaline- All I want.
"If you loved me, why'd you leave me?"It was November 6th 1983, Evangeline Lucy was sat on her couch with her mother Primrose. The two were tired, they had been out all day. Evangeline had been running though patients most of the day. Helping Dr Brenner was hard, as the man had very high expectations. Evangeline was simply a 12 year old girl. She only worked there for two reasons; she helped calm down Eleven, and her mother worked there.
Evangeline wished nothing more than to be a normal child, being able to go to their friends house, hanging out after school. Just doing ordinary things. Sure, she went to school, but only because it was permitted. If it were Dr Brenner's choice, she'd be locked up there all day.Evangeline was calm. She could feel in the air that something was going to happen, she just knew. Although she was calm, she would never really be safe. They were under surveillance, so she had figured out how to hide her emotions away from the cameras.
The obnoxious sound of the phone ringing brought the two out of their silence. Primrose got up and walked to the phone, her long legs getting her there easily. That was one trait that Evangeline hadn't got from her mother, as the girl was quite short.
Primrose picked up the phone and held it to her ear. Evangeline listened as best as she could.
"Hello?" Primrose greeted.
There was slight murmurs from the other end. A gasp fell from Primrose's moth as she dropped the phone, the wire being the only thing to keep it in one piece.
"Mom?" Evangeline gently asked, slowly making her way towards her mother. Primrose turned to Evangeline with wide eyes, a hand covering her mouth with shock. "Mom, what's going on?"
"She's gone." Primrose muttered.
"Who's gone, Mom?"
"Eleven." Evangeline's breath caught in her throat.
"No." she muttered, slowly backing away from her Mom.
"Eveange-"
"No!" She shouted, tears welling up in her eyes. "No, not- not Eleven, p-please, no." Her tears slowly slid down her face. Her emotions were out of control. Anger was boiling in her blood, her heart beat rose inhumanly fast, a sudden sadness had washed through her.She wanted to look for her only real friend, she wanted to find her, hug her, swear at her for being so stupid, hug her again and give her warmth. She wanted her best friend safe.
Evangeline ran out of her front door, her Mom screaming at her to come back the whole time. The freezing November air hit her hard, goosebumps covering her skin. A dress and Nikes wasn't exactly outdoor appropriate. Her mind was clouded, only one thing stood out, finding Eleven.
Evangeline ran into the woods as fast as her small frame would carry her. Running past two boys on bikes at the time.
Will and Dustin watched as the girl who had almost got ran over them ran into the woods.
"Was that-" Will had started, soon to be cut off by Dustin.
"Evangeline Lucy."
"Wonder why she's going into the woods at night?" Will added.
"Who knows, C'mon first one to my house gets a comic!" Dustin rode off, not sparing Evangeline a second glance."Eleven!" Evangeline's throat burned as she shouted for her only friend. She was sobbing by now. "Please, Eleven. I need you!"
She fell to her knees on the ground, punching it with all her might.
"Please!"The last thing Will Byers heard that night was the light shouting of a girl.
"Eleven!"
Then darkness.
