chapter 10: my idiot father is coming

Ranmaru’s P.O.V

It was time for class and yet the head master called me and my brothers because we have a visitor coming to visit us and I know who always wants to surprise us. “Father is coming.” I muttered under my breath w/c any of them barely could hear. When I saw a carriage coming I assumed that it was Father coming to deliver Mariko. When the carriage came near I stepped forward and waited for Father to come down.

Kazemaru’s P.O.V

When the carriage was nearing I saw Ranmaru stepped forward and waited for me to come down to greet them. I saw Mariko sleeping peacefully in my arms and then I saw Kenji who was carrying Kakeru. I sighed at the thought that leaving Mariko w/ Kenji might be a bad Idea. Because Kenji is a spoiled brat but then again I can always give Mariko to Ranmaru. I was snapped out of my thoughts when then carriage stopped and the door was opened.

Shindou’s P.O.V

When I saw the carriage stop I immediately opened the door and bowed down. “Raise your head Shindou.” His majesty said. I stood up and raised my head. I saw his majesty walking towards his highness Ranmaru, then whispered something I cannot hear.

Ranmaru’s P.O.V

When I saw Father coming my way he bent down and whispered ‘Look out for anyone who might harm the child.’ I nodded lightly in response. “Father, may I ask what brings you hear?” Kenji asked politely since we are in front of the principal. “Ah, Kenji there you are I came here to bring Mariko. You are to take care of her in any way you can.” He said. “Yes, Father. Father may I ask how Mother is doing?” Kenji asked again. “She’s doing fine.” He said. “I see, so Father would you care to have a cup of tea before going? It’s been a long time since we had a private conversation. Plus there are quite a few things I wished to discuss.” I said. “hmm….. Very well since my cute crowned prince asked me to.” He said and winked at me. I blushed and told him “Father! How many do I have to tell you to stop calling me cute?! I’m a boy and you don’t call boys cute! Geez.” I sighed. He chuckled at my reaction. “Okay okay, my dear crowned prince.” He said. Then he went inside to drink some tea.

Kazemaru’s P.O.V

When my son, Ranmaru asked to have tea w/ him it seems he was bothered about what I had said to him. As I walk along side my son, he seems to become even more matured. When we reached the door there was a voice that called my son’s name. “Prince Ranmaru, you forgot this inside the classroom a while ago. It kept on blinking; I didn’t know what to do so I asked permission from our teacher and approved of it.” She said. “Thank you very much princess Yuka.” Ranmaru said then smiled at her. She blushed a bit then bid farewell. The poor girl’s heart was captured by my crowned prince though I thought that Ranmaru was not the popular one but Kenji, and then again I was wrong thinking that one of my twins isn’t that popular w/ the girls. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Ranmaru opened the door to his and Kenji’s room. “Father what do you mean by ‘look out for anyone who might harm the child.’?” He asked. “Well there are number of cases of missing young nobles and even prince and princess so I thought that it might be best to warn you this early for I have a feeling that they will be targeting Kakeru soon so it might be best if you keep an eye on him always, there’s no saying that Kakeru won’t be hunted for he is also a prince though a young one but his blood is thicker than Mariko’s.” I told him. He nodded then he asked “If they are trying to harm the two kids then they must be after mother’s unborn child for his or her blood will be the same blood as Kakeru’s, but I guess you will be there to protect mother so I wouldn’t worry. What I’m worried about is the things that might happen to any of my younger siblings. I wouldn’t like it if my younger siblings get harmed so please keep this a secret between us, because if they knew they will be too scared to go to their classes much less trust the people around them except for me I guess. But the point here is that you must never tell them about this. I will keep an eye on all of them, since I have the same class as Kenji, I will keep an eye on him every time as for Kakeru, I will make one of his close friends and then accompany him in his everyday life.” He said and I saw the determination in his eyes but then I saw something else it was fear, fear that he can’t protect his siblings. I sighed and accepted his request. “Alright, I get it. I won’t tell them that I promise, on condition that is…..” I said. “What condition is that?” he asked. “Give your father a hug that is, just kidding there’s no condition because you and your siblings are my pride and joy.” I said then instantly he hugged me. “You’re the best Dad.” He said. I was shocked at first but eventually hugged him back. “I love Ranmaru, when you come home I expect you to be polite as always but in private you can call your mother and I, mom and dad okay?” I said. “Okay.” He said.  then he fell asleep in my arms knowing that he is tired I carried him like a five year old child in which I never got a chance to, because I sent him to the village of Baten for his training. He came back matured so I never got the chance to spoil him a bit but Kenji, I think I spoiled him too much. I was snapped out of my thought by Kenji yelling. “Father! I’m glad to see you well.” He said very politely. I chuckled a bit and went to place Ranmaru on his bed and covered him w/ blank, then I turned around to see Kenji holding Mariko in one arm and Kakeru was holding his other hand. “Daddy!” Kakeru yelled as he saw me I laughed a bit since I was tackled in a hug. “Hey there Kakeru.” I said. He hugged me tighter like he wants to kill me. “Kakeru, I can’t breathe.” I said, my face was turning purple.

Kakeru’s P.O.V

When I saw daddy I felt really jealous that Ranmaru nii hugged him. I ran to and hugged him really tight then he said that he can’t breathe and his face turned purple, so I let go of him. “Daddy, I’m sorry.” I said. He just chuckled and rubbed my head. It felt warm and it also felt like when Ranmaru nii pets me. I blushed and pouted a bit. “You have such enormous strength for a five year old child.” He said. “Do you hate it?” I asked innocently. “Of course not. I’m proud that you have strength that can help people when they are in need of strength.” He said. “Really?!” I asked. “Of course, but you have to use it in the right time and place. If you felt like your brothers are in danger use that enormous strength of yours to help them okay?” he said. “Okay.” I said. Then he stood up and patted my head then he proceeded to wake Ranmaru nii.

Ranmaru’s P.O.V

When I fell asleep on Dad’s arms, I didn’t knew what happened next but I felt someone carry me it was my father that carried me to bed then fell into a dream less sleep. The next thing I knew I was being shaken awake. I slowly opened my eyes to see my Father waking me up. I rubbed the sleep off my eyes and stretched my arms. “Good morning Father.” I said. “Good morning Ranmaru, it’s okay to call me the only ones in here are your siblings.” He said. “Okay Dad.” I said. As I was about to get off to bed my legs felt really weak and my visions a bit blurry. I almost fell face first if Dad was not near me. “Are you okay?” he asked. “I’m fine Dad I’m a bit dizzy that’s all.” I said. “Your face is quite flushed. Let me take your temperature first before I leave.” He said w/ a worried face. He puts his hand over my forehead then to his. “You have a fever.” He said. “Dad, are you going to leave soon?” I asked. “No, I will say here and take care of you until your fever goes down.” He said. “But what about mom? Won’t she be worried if you aren’t there yet? Plus don’t you have paper works to do as a king?” I asked. “Yes, but you’re more important than work. Besides your mom will nag about me leaving you, while you’re sick.” He said. “Alright, but at least tell mom that you’re going to stay her.” I said. “Alright then, now get inside the covers before your cold gets any more worst.” He said. And I nodded in agreement. Kenji came near me then he told me that he will be telling the teachers that I m sick. I nodded in approval, before going to a dreamless sleep again, w/ my father stroking my head.
