You met Mister Graves at the Woolworth Building, which wasn't much as a suprise. (Because after all he works there.)
That's when you saw him, he obviously hasn't seen you, so you were the first one to take a look. He was standing under a shelf looking at the sky.
His hair had turned grey, suprisingly the hair on top of his head was still his own color: Black. His clothes were black to and he looked very tired. There were some bags under his eyes. The clothes he was wearing suited him well. He was from a good family and he was a good auror. Money wasn't the problem. He must have felt your stares because he looked your way, and he started to walk towards you.
You were wearing a black dress with high heels, for the love of god, you were thankfull you've picked the longest dress you had. Because under his eyes you felt uncomfortable. (You've always been uncomfortable around men, but you had your good reasons for it.)
He kind of smiled, to be honest that's what he tried but it looked more like he was trying to be polite. The smile wasn't real. It was more some kind of grimas. So you smiled back.
' Good you could come Mrs. Rodante. I am very grateful that we could meet today.'
You felt his eyes locked on you, scanning you from head to toe. Unfortunately your throat was sore, you've had to much wind on it during the boattrip. So you must have sound like some dying pig or something.
'No problem Mister Graves, and please just call me Anne. It's unnecessary because we already know each other.'
He raised a brow while looking at you.
' I wouldn't call it knowing, Mrs. Anne I call it recognizing someone you've know from your childhood. But I don' t even know what your favorite colour is so I wouldn't call it knowing.'
ouch, that hurts. You started to wonder. Did I say something wrong? Is my hair looking weird or something? He must have seen your face.
'I didn't mean to be harsh with you Anne I'm sorry.'
He smiled politely (there were some lights in his eyes you noticed, and you smiled back.)
'No problem Mister Graves. Shall we go inside I think it's going to rain.'
You pointed at the grey clouds above you. He nodded so you walked towards the nearest cafe you could find. He followed you inside and you both took a seat.
He was staring at you while you were trying to throw you're jacket at the back of the seat. So when you turned towards him you stared back. Right in his face. He coughed and started asking you questions.
'How have you been these past years?'
"Good, I have a good job and a good home so why would I wish for more? Are you alright? You look a bit tired."
'I'm perfectly fine thank you. I have one more question for you. For now. What would you if you met your classmate a few years later, you haven't seen each other for years.
(sound familiair you thought. YOU were in the exact the same situation.)
But your classmate knows you have more power than everyone else he knew. But he was in trouble, and the you were the only person who could've helped him. Helped him to save his life would you do it?'
you looked in terror at him, progressing everything he just told you.
'What do you mean, helping him to save his life?'
He sighed. "Could you keep a secret Anne? a very big secret?"
