You were simply sitting in your chair like a bag of flour, you were weak and couldn't talk.
Graves came in to talk to you, but you never thought he was capable of doing things like this.
"I suggest you come and help me with something at the Macusa. Because I have something difficulties I need to solve. We both are aurors, so it seems logical to me we work together during your stay.I checked your files, and I read the thing your boss wrote about you. He called you a 'Fierce, powerfull but patient woman, which always looks calm, and also ventilates her inner peace too others."I arranged a place to stay for you, there's an empty house next to mine so you could stay there so we could talk and argue about work. And you don't have to travel much.
That's what he said. That bastard just arranged a job for you, and a house next to his. Not a house to live in but to stay in, you had to remind yourself.
You were thinking like as fast as you could. When he was with you, you needed to make sure nothing happened. But if you acted like a cold person nothing could go wrong right? You always made sure no one got close to you. So it couldn't hurt to do it.
At least you had something to hold on too. When you came back to the living world when you heard tapping on the floor. Graves was tapping his feet on the floor. He looked impatient at you. His brow was raised an he looked you in the eyes. He was miffed, but you didn't bother. You already knew what you were going to do."I couldn't be happier mister Graves. When can I start?"You said with a fake smile on your face. A smile was a smile after all.
"Right away Anne." He stood up and he grabbed your arm. You froze inside but couldn't let it show. You hated when people touched you. Your ex-boyfriend had touched you but not in a good way. Graves gesture reminded you of him. As soon as the thought came, as soon as it left.
You were standing in the Woolworth building. And it was even prettier then you remembered. He was looking at you, raising a brow. "Please don't tell me you don't know what it looked like. "
I know what it looks like Mister Graves, I've been here multiple times." You said.
"That's weird, I haven't read that in your file." he answered. You gulped. Shit, you forgot he had checked your file. He walked towards the elevator, and he held the door open for you. "After you" he said, with a smile. Damn that was a fake smile you thougt. So many times when you talked to people, so many times they've tried to be polite. They smiled but the smile never reached their eyes. A smile was real when you saw it in their eyes.
The elevator went down, he stopped. You guessed you went to floors down. He walked towards a door, and opened it. "My office Anne" You saw a lott of books and sat down on the chair nearby.
First you need to go to the Federal Wand Permit Office. To get you're wand permit. If you don't have it you could risk getting imprisonment, prosecution or wand confiscation."
You need to go one floor down, you will walk straight to the Office, because there is only one door which you can get in freely."
"Sounds nice" you said raising up from your chair walking towards the door again. "Come back to me when you're done." "Yes" You answered, hearing the door falling into the doorlock behind you. You sighed, when you walked towards the elevator and asked the houself to bring to one floor down. This was going to be a long afternoon .
