*Alice's POV*
"Hello children," my mother greeted us as we walked through the doors of my home. Can I even call it a home? A home is supposed to be a place where a family can come together and there's love whereas my household was full of strangers, meetings and sparkly things. My parents, along with Holly and Max's parents, were sitting in the sun room, drinking tea from the evening china. "Alice?" Mrs. Henry asked. "Yes ma'am?" "Is that a leaf in your hair?" I turned and looked in the mirror beside the antique bookshelf and pulled out a tell-tale leaf. "What's that doing there love?" my father asked. My eyes widened.
"Alice fell when we were walking home," Holly responded before I could come up with some lame excuse. I'm good at the planned stuff, she takes charge when it comes to unexpected encounters. "Oh sweetheart!" my mom exclaimed, rising from her seat to caress my face and examine me. "I'm fine. I really am mother," she looked at me quizzically. "Okay dear, go on and wash up," Holly, Max and I walked upstairs. "That was close," Max whispered when we got to the top of the almost never ending staircase. "Tell me about it," Holly and I said in unison. We got to my room door and opened it to find the maids cleaning. "Good evening Ms. Matthews, we're almost done,"
I always feel bad about having other people to do my cleaning and washing up. "Actually, I'm giving you the rest of the day and tomorrow off. You two work way too hard and I'll do all my own cleaning don't worry," Rosetta and Fiona smiled widely. "Thank you Ms. Matthews," I shook my head and giggled. "Once again, just call me Alice," They nodded and left the room. I closed the door and smiled to myself. "You can actually be nice to people?" Max asked. I rolled my eyes and chucked a bear skin cushion at his face.
"C'mon man, they're both younger than me and they're twins! THEY NEED LIVES!!!" I practically yelled. Holly stared at me wide-eyed. "Calm down," I shook my head. "How can I be calm? I have twelve year olds doing all my crap for me! And then there's the cooks who're from the last two centuries and I don't even know how they still stand up! And don't get me started on our security force. Those poor men have their own families, wives, children and one of them's gay and they have twins, to attend to. They shouldn't have to stand around and patrol these fucked up premises when they should be at home living it up with their families and friends! Because of this stupid place they probably don't even have friends because they never leave! Someone get me out of this place," I mumbled the last part and plopped face down on my bed.
"We'll be out of here soon love," Holly assured me, stroking my hair. "Almost six more months until we're outta here!" Holly hollered and I fist pumped. "I'm turning eighteen in six months!" I kicked my feet up in the air and Holly pouted. "Don't rub it in," she murmured. "We'll come back for you don't worry love," I kissed her cheek and stood up to change for evening tea. "I'm gonna hafta go a whole year without the two of you!" she groaned and Max laughed. "Not our fault you were born a year too late," I snickered and Holly whined. "Don't take his side!" I shook my head. "What should I wear to the bonfire?"
"I dunno," they replied in unison. "I was thinking the either the ripped black jeans or the really short leather pants and my combat boots with whichever top I could find and still fit into," Holly made a thinking face. "Is Connor gonna be at the bonfire?" Max smacked her head. "It's his turn to host, obviously he's gonna be there," Holly punched his chest. "Don't be rude. I forgot," "Another side effect of being born late," he mused. "Another? What's the others?" Holly asked confused. "Your face," My jaw fell open and Max stood there smug. Holly looked shocked and confused.
"What's today's date?" I asked. "16th December, why?" Max replied. "Need to mark my calendar, the day Holly got OWNED by Max Schmidt of all people." Max and I pounded fists and Holly sat on my couch. "I feel... different... like... I've lost something," "Your pride?" Max asked. "Yeah..." Holly looked dazed. "Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it," I stated walking into my closet looking for my shorts and any acceptable top.
Looking up, I saw the studded leather of my shorts dangling from the top shelf of my massive closet. I tiptoed but it was still too far. I jumped, stretched, jumped and stretched but nothing worked. Sighing I pouted and walked back into my room. "What's wrong babe?" Holly asked, propping her head up with her elbow. "I can't reach my shorts," I mumbled. Max got up and laughed.
He walked into my closet, reached for my shorts and threw them at my face. "All better?" I smiled and nodded, causing Max to laugh. "Now go bathe your sexy body," he slapped my butt while I got my towel and headed for the showers. I turned around and looked at him in disbelief. He put his hands up in surrender and stepped back. "Did you just call me hott?" He scratched the back of his neck and opened his mouth but got interrupted by Holly.
"Correction! He called you sexy," she snickered and I rolled my eyes. "Shut it Henry," Max groaned. "Make me," Before I could see or hear what happened next, I walked into the en-suite and started stripping. Tonight was gonna be epic.
This was actually finished a looonnggg time ago but I never published it bc I don't like it. Sorreh :D How's everyone doing?
