It's been 3 months since there first date. Things are going great and Addison and Kaden are now open about there relationship in public and at the hospital. He still picks her up on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. They call each other there boyfriend/girlfriend. Today is a Tuesday.

Wait to play the song.

I really don't like waling to work, but I can't let him pick me up every day. The hospital is a block and a half away when I spot the accident. I run up the the officers.
"I'm a surgeon what can I do?" I ask.
"Make sure that woman is alive the ambulance is on the way."
"Who's on the phone with 911?" I ask.
"Me," a voice yells from the gathering crowd.
"Ok, tell the 911 operator to take them to the University of Washington Medical Center."
"Ok," she says.
My phone starts ringing.
I pick it up, "Hello," play the song
"Where are you," Kaden's voice asks through the other end of the line.
"There was an accident, I'm on scene with a major cardiac trauma get an OR ready."
"Ok," he says.
"Hey lady, watch out!" I look up in time to see a car barring towards the crash. I get thrown into the air and I start screaming.
"Addison......Addison!" Kaden yells, but there is no answer.....

Kaden's POV

"Addison......Addison!" I'm yelling.
"What's wrong, you and Addison fighting?" Asks Amanda.
"I think she is in trouble..she was talking about some accident, then a huge crash sound and a lot of screaming." I trail off.
"She could just be busy at the crash." Amanda says.
"I'm getting a page 911 to the ER." I look at Amanda.
We run to the elevator and down the the ER. We meet Dr. Yect at the door. There are two ambulances there. Amanda and I take the one on the right and Dr. Yect takes the one on the left.
I'm staring at a middle aged woman with a piece of metal in her chest. Then Dr. Yect screams, "This is one of my interns!" 'Addison' I think to myself.
I run over to her. It is my beautiful Addison, laying there with a huge cut beside her eyebrow. Her eyes are in total shock as they look into mine.
"Addison," I whisper.
"She just woke up, she passed out in the field," the paramedic informs me.
Dr. Yect and I run her in. All the while me screaming, "It's Addison. It's Addison."
Almost everyone knows who she is. The intern who kept her calm. The chief of surgery and the head of trauma meet us inside.
"What happened?" The chief asks. The head of trauma starts her work up.
"I....I don't know.....there was an accident and she was on the phone...and a loud crash." I start stuttering. I stroke her chestnut hair. 'Addison,' this could be the last time I see my beautiful Addison, I'm not ok with that. We have so much more ahead.
"Let's take her," the trauma surgeon says, "Get trauma room one ready." They then take Addison away from me. Into trauma one. She was the most severely injured.

Addison POV

Some paramedic is unloading me form the back of an ambulance. I get a rush of emotions as I remember what happened. I want to scream but I can't make any noise. I see Kaden looking at me. They run me in and the next thing I know im in trauma one.
"Her pupils are equal and reactive." A trauma surgeon says. I think it's Dr. Angelo.
"Her abdomen is tender, get the ultrasound over here," the chief says, "There's free fluid in the abdomen.."
"That's enough, put her out and get me an intubation tray." Dr. Angelo, "We've got you but you have to have us. Don't you die understand me. There will be none of that. Blink if you understand." I blink.
"Let's put her out to transport her." The chef says.
"She needs a head ct first," Dr. Angelo says. Then he gives me the medication the puts people to sleep.

Kaden's POV

The trauma team run with Addison to the elevator, who knows how long she will be stable and they want to get a ct to make sure her confusion is a concussion and not a subdural hematoma (a brain bleed) which would require surgery. Brain surgery. Either way she will have to have surgery. Addison will lay open on a table...
I look over and see her friend Amanda crying. She pulls herself together, "She's the closest thing I have to family in Seattle. We've become best friends. What if she dies?"
"She won't.....she's tough." I say. She nods but continues to cry.
"She's like a sister to me." She says after a while.
"I think I'm in love with her. She's my better half. My good side and that is all in danger. I haven't told her yet. She had to live. Or all this will be pointless." I say. Amanda looks totally shocked. We don't talk for the rest of the time. We just sit outside of trauma one.

Cliffhanger 😏 will Kaden get to tell Addison he loves her or will it be to late?
