A boat-load of trouble

The calming sound of the waves crashing against the boat, filling the air with the salty sea spray. A seagull cried out, echoing over the calm ocean, it's small form gliding peacefully through the air, casting a shadow briefly on the deck. The British man watch the bird, unnoticed by his fellow passengers, until it was out of sight. His sapphire eyes shone with a mixture of amusement and affection as a soft, barely audible scratching came from the case by his side.
"Settle down in there, we still have a while to go." he chuckled softly, tapping the case reassuringly.
Exhausted by the long journey, Newton Artemis Fido Scamander rested his head on his hand and swiftly dozed off. A small, green sticklike creature, a Bowtruckle which was affectionately named Picket, crawled out of his large, dark blue coat's pocket before climbing up his chest, neck and eventually shoulder where he made himself comfortable, hidden by his curly brown hair.

One of the clasps on the case flicked open, unnoticed by the sleeping man.

A quiet scuffling came from the case as two small paws clawed their way out. A small, furry creature, resembling an echidna puggle crawled out of the case, its long snout sniffling the air, taking in the sea breeze as it listened to the dull murmur of the people.  The Niffler quickly made itself busy, shoving everything shiny that it could into it's disproportionately large pouch, from coins to fine jewellery it took everything.
From the partially open case a small, fairy like creature, coated entirely with thick black hair and an extra set of limbs flew out. The Doxy was then accompanied by several more of its species. The Doxies fluttered around, making mischief as Newt, unaware of what was going on, slept peacefully.
A single Doxy flew away from the group, pursued closely by the Niffler who was focused on its shiny, beetle-like wings.

The commotion caused by passengers realising their belongings were missing or being harassed by the small flying beasts awoke the sleep man who sighed, flicking the case closed to ensure that nothing else could be escape before standing, preparing to return the escaped beasts to where he knew they were safe.
A noise above him drew his attention, the Niffler crawled along a rope, determined to claim the metal clasp keeping it secure.
"Oh no you don't!" He exclaimed, hurrying after the faster creature, skilfully climbing a pole to catch the unsuspecting creature, who, upon seeing him turned and hurried the other direction. Sighing, Newt followed it as it then climbed the cabin which was unfortunately full of distressed people. Running along the roof he leapt at the small creature, his hand brushed its soft fur before it scurried off.
The swarm of Doxy leaving the cabin he currently stood on caught his attention. Carefully swinging his case, the flying beasts flew in before he shut it once more.
The Niffler scurried across the deck below him. Leaping off the cabin in pursuit of the beast he eventually managed to capture it. Lifting the small creature into the air all that it had stolen began to pour from its pouch, forming an ever growing pile.
When he was sure that all that was taken was removed he opened the case,
"Don't take what isn't yours!" Newt said sternly, amusement cracking in his voice as the Niffler, too, was returned to the case.
Sighing inwardly, Newt walked into the cabin, administering Doxy antidote to any bitten passenger and returning stolen item before Obliviating them.
Throughly amused, Newt sat back outside, watching the waves crash gently, adjusting his disheveled clothes, his large blue coat, a black bow tie, formal white shirt under a honey coloured vest and a pair of dress pants. After all, he wanted to look his best when he arrived in America.
The clasp of the case clicked open, the man flicked it closed.
