"I won't be away for too long, Tina." the magizoologist assured his wife, tugging his coat over one arm, pausing for a moment to offer her a reassuring smile as he said this.

Some people long for a life that is simple and planned
Tied with a ribbon

"Promise?" the woman asked, sounding doubtful as the last time he had made such a promise he was away for the greater part of six months in a fruitless search for some creature or another.
"I promise, Tina." he replied, and with that he was off.

Some people won't sail the sea 'cause they're safer on land
To follow what's written

Porpentina 'Tina' Esther Scamander watched her husband duck out of the door, his case the last thing that he saw as he vanished, leaving her sight for who knows how long.

But I'd follow you to the great unknown
Off to a world we call our own

Her heart seemed to swell significantly before seeming to crumple in on itself in an almost disconcerting degree of sadness, the fact that she had been left alone washing over her in a melancholy so thick she seemed to be on the verge of being swept away by it. She had vowed to stay by his side, helping him no matter what but she had been left alone again. The thought of this hurt

Hand in my hand and we promised to never let go
We're walking the tightrope

The emptiness of the house, no matter how small it may have been, caused each room to feel well and truly cavernous, which only served to amplify her loneliness.

High in the sky
We can see the whole world down below

The Auror had a strong desire to run after the man, to join him, to leave her job and accompany him in his travels. She knew full well that if she did she would be sabotaging all her hard work, work that she had already lost once before.

We're walking the tightrope
Never sure, never know how far we could fall

Of course she had never wanted an ordinary life, a suffocatingly mundane existence that she well and truly dreaded the mere thought of. She was not made for a simple existence, but neither was he and this both drew them together and physically forced them apart all the same.

But it's all an adventure
That comes with a breathtaking view

It wasn't that she regretted her decision, nor that she resented Newt for pursuing his studies, even in this moments. She was content with her life, as it wasn't as if this wasn't, at least to a degree, expected as she had chosen to marry a man who would drop anything and everything to follow a lead or even fleeting rumour, so she could hardly say she didn't know what she was getting into.

Walking the tightrope
With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
With you

She wasn't always left behind. Sometimes she accompanied him on his adventures, where she would help the one that she loves as equals. But this somehow made the loneliness worse for her.

Mountains and valleys, and all that will come in between
Desert and ocean

As the days went by she would find herself frequently staring out of the window, looking out for any signs that might imply the man was returning. Though, as she had been expecting, there was nothing as the person that she hoped to see was off Merlin knows where, searching for some reclusive creature or another.

You pulled me in and together we're lost in a dream
Always in motion

Though she wasn't necessarily stir crazy per say, the moments of still, as unusual as they were, were making her rather antsy all the same. Her life was not the most conventional, but it was exactly as she wanted.

So I risk it all just to be with you
And I risk it all for this life we choose

People had asked her, "Tina, if you had to choose between your family or your job, what would you say?" but she could never answer, drawing a blank to this, but deep down there was some part of her whispering to her that if such a decision had to be made, would she really choose her job? She couldn't rightly say and that bothered her a little.

Hand in my hand and you promised to never let go
We're walking the tightrope

Her strollings through the garden became more and more frequent as the owls that he sent were becoming less and less common. This worried her quite a lot, though she wouldn't admit this.

High in the sky
We can see the whole world down below

His unreliability was not the biggest surprise, in the past he had gone months with only a handful of letters that she received. This built upon the near overwhelming feeling of loneliness, but he always returned.

We're walking the tightrope
Never sure, will you catch me if I should fall?

He always returned. One way or another he would return, not necessarily informing her of when when this would be.

Well, it's all an adventure
That comes with a breathtaking view

Her life was an exciting one that she wouldn't dream of changing, even if it hurt, even if it was unpredictable. It was this unpredictablity that made it so exciting and so real.

Walking the tightrope
With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
With you
With you, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
With you, ooh-ooh-ooh
With you

Tina was lonely. Tina missed Newt. Tina was happy and no one could tell her otherwise.

((Wow this was absolutely dreadful but oh well. I literally forgot where I was going with this half way through))
