After packing the truck and finding Ryder some more clothes we set out on the thirty-six hour drive to Seattle. Ryder was an okay traveling companion, he liked the windows down I hated that, he wanted the music turned down, I hated that too. This was going to be a long trip. I called Ariel when we hit the far side of Missouri, we had been driving for seventeen hours and I felt like I was dragging, so I decided it was time to stop. We pulled into a run down motel, one with the vacancy sigh half way lit up.

We got l a room with two queen size beds. I figured if someone came looking for me then having Ryder as a former marine, in the room to help me wasn't a bad thing.

''Are you sure you want to share a room?'' Ryder looked nervous.

''I don't see why it's a problem.'' I couldn't understand why he was so stressed. ''Are you okay with it? I can get another room."

''No its okay.'' he said shaking his head like a little child.

''Okay, well im gonna shower, then you can is that cool?'' I said as we settled into the room a little bit.

''Sounds good." he said with a shrug.

I took my time in the shower. My hair long and thick took a while to wash. When i was done getting dressed and combing my hair I went out in to the room.

"Okay its all yours." I said as came through the door. I saw Ryder sitting on the end of the bed. "Ryder are you okay?"

When he didn't say anything to me I grabbed the gun from the top of my suit case. As I moved closer to him I could see that his skin was rippling. When I reached out and lightly touched his shoulder he head snapped up and he looked in to my eyes I was shocked. They were glowing a bright yellow color, it was beautiful but scary at the same time.

"Ryder?" I said keeping my voice even.

"Leave, Ara" he sounded different "Leave now!"

"No! Ryder what's wrong?" I said as I switch the safety off on the automatic in my hand.

When Ryder stood, it seemed like he had grown if that is even possible. I took a few large steps back to create some distance between us. "Ryder calm down!" then he started growling, no joke actually growling. I raised the gun and aimed at his chest. "Please don't make me do this, Ryder, Please!" Just as the last word left my mouth he charged me and I pulled the trigger BANG, the bullet hit him square in the chest. As he crumpled I fell to my knees in front of him, tears pulling themselves out of my eyes. "I'm so sorry!"

"Don't be." I heard as I felt a strong finger slide under my chin and lift my face to meet the eyes I had grown to adore in the last 24 hours.

"But how?" I looked down at his chest and the was a red spot right below his sternum. I reached and softly grazed the tip of my fingers across it, and Ryder shivered at my touch.

"I don't know. But I am so sorry. I have leave I shouldn't have put you in danger. I have to go." He said as he stood and started putting things in his bag.

"No please don't go!" I said scrambling to get up off the floor, grabbing his wrist pleading with my eyes to get him to stay. I had never pleaded with anyone before but the thought of Ryder leaving me made me feel physically ill.

"Ara, I am dangerous! I can't put you in any danger willingly." He said it but I knew he was feeling the pull like I was I could see it in his eyes and face. "I can't control it Ara." He said looking defeated.

"My sister she's special. She can help you, I know she can!" He gave me a strange look.

"How?" he said with a exasperated sigh.
