It started with one
And that one grew up and went to venture out in the world
Soon after that one became two
And with that two came one
That one was born into an unforgiving world
She saw sadness

Soon she came to fear that world.
Until luckily there came a boy.
Although they had known each other for many years
Their friendship came much later in life.
They came from two separate walks of life
And even though they seemed seamless
Their smiles came at a price.
They could talk the talk
Walk the walk
And even push it a little further.
Separate they could make many memories
But only together could any of them have meaning.
Even though their relationship could cross some boundaries
They remained as they should
Friends.
She was a mess
That would one day rule the world
And he a broken soul
That could spark a conversation.
