We have something that holds us together
Something that made us both better
Something called being a friend
It makes the fun never end
And it helps me to know that when
I am down and blue
Because you’re my friend
I can count on you
We run through life without a care
Would anyone try to part us?
They wouldn’t dare
And when the time comes for me to go
I really want for you to know
That even though my life has come to and end
I will never stop being your friend~ Trenda Sparks
The Study Session (Rose)
I quietly shrug my Quddich cloak off, ball it up, and shove it into my bag. I start running towards the library; the study session Scorpius had offered was tonight.
"Rose!" I hear James call, "Where are you running to?" I look over my shoulder briefly.
"Library!" I yell back at him, still running.
"Nerd," He hollers down the hallway. I turn around and stick my tounge out at him.
I stop running after I get about three quarters of the way there to admire the beauty of the school. After I've been here for so long, six years in fact, I've started to underappreciate how lovely it all is. The tapestries hanging down, their fringes sweeping the floors, the elegant paitings sitting upon the wall in their eternal grace and poise, the constant background noise of the flutter of owl wings; Its all so beautiful, so timeless, I can hardly believe this is my last year here. Its rather sad, actually, I'm going to actually have to get a job and move on with my life in a year. I wish I could stay put in this eternal childhood though, the prospect of getting a job frightens me.
I look to my left. Lilly is sitting in front of the Slytherin common room with a boy called Davey, she's scribbling widly on a piece of parchment, her long red waves continuously blowing in her face. I smile at her.
"Oi! Lilly!" I say. She looks up, startled at first, then she sees its only me, and the left corner of her mouth turns up slightly.
"Oh, hi Rose."
I continue down the corridor until I come to the library.
He's in there, as he promised, his brows furrowed as he scans the textbook. A strand of blond hair falls over his eye and he brushes it away.
I truly hate to admitt it, but Scorpius Malfoy is one very mysterious, handsome, interesting boy. He's got an air of mystery about him, he seems like he's got secrets bursting at the seems of his mind.
I walk over and sit next to him on the couch.
"Hey," I say. I sound formal and very reserved. He looks up at me and smiles.
"Hey," he says back. He looks back down at his textbook, his arm brushing mine. I blush and scoot over a little, enough so he's not touching me anymore.
"What do you get when you mix wolfsbane and pixie saliva?" he asks, looking up at me.
"... Uh, the base of any love potion?" I say, half asking and half answering his question.
"That's right. What do you get when you shove a bezoar down someone's throat?" he asks. I have no idea. I smirk a little.
"A choking person," I retort. He chuckles.
"Clever," he says, pausing, "But you get the cure to any poison except the Draugt of Death."
"I knew that...," I mutter. He laughs.
Scorpius reteaches me basically the entire chapter; anything from Love Potions or Felix Felicius or bezoars, you name it, that boy taught it to me. Everything I do seems strained, like I'm trying not to be rude, or I'm trying not to insult him. I have no idea why, he's been nothing but kind to me, and all I seem to be able to do is be a jerk.
