"Autumn, honey! Please come get your backpack out of the living room!"
"OK hold on mom!" I said as I finished tightening the lace my right shoe. Things have been hard for my family and i lately. It all started when we moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. I lost so many loved ones, my mom kept getting in car crashes, and my Grandpa lost a leg. I personally think that this was a wake up call for us to go back "home". We moved back to Traverse City, which is not too far from Ann Arbor and kind of close to where i used to live.. I live with my mom, sister, and my grandpa and grandma. We live in a old vintage-like mansion. I'm fifteen years old, my little sister is twelve. Her name is Emma.
I was getting ready to explore the streets of Traverse City. I overheard the old ladies at the nail salon talking about how they just love the town square. They said there was a library, which caught my attention. I've been looking around anyways for a library to go to. I grabbed my dark green backpack, and started to twist open the door knob.
"Mom, i'll be back later. I'll be at the town square!" I shouted, so she can hear me.
"Wait! The town square? Is it close? Will you be safe" She questioned.
I rolled my eyes. "Yes mom, I'll be fine. See you later."
" Be home before dinner. Five o'clock"
As I was walking down the driveway. Something caught my attention. There was a black figure who passed very quickly, across the big black gates that block off my family's property, from the rest of the world. I have never seen anybody run that fast. I sprinted to the gates, opened them quickly. and looked to the right where the figure was going towards. No body was there. Maybe he lived in the mansion next to ours. I just put aside what I just saw, and started walking to the town square.
