It all started on August 19. I was at Forever 21 looking for "back to school" outfits with my best friend Claire. We bought so many thing I'm pretty sure that my precious new credit card was broke.

We were in the mall browsing and having a great time. After about 2 hours we each had at least 3 bags hanging from our arms.

"Let's go to Forever 21 next! They're having a sale," Claire shrieked. I tried to cover my ears but the shopping bags were too heavy so I just stopped walking. She turned to me and said,

"What is it Brooke?" She asked her clear blue eyes twinkling.

"Next time, warn me before you shriek," I said through me teeth.

"Right.." She giggled. Claire is mostly a quiet person, she's shy, polite, and responsible. So when she is able to let lose with me, she can forget how loud she can be. Claire was born into a family where her parents are perfectionists and make sure their children are the same. So Claire has never been to a real party, kissed a boy, flirted with a boy, or wear a bikini. Which of course I am definitely going to make sure she does before senior year is over.

We made our way over to the store and Claire pointed out all of the clothes that she wished she could afford. Finally we decided that we should both get dresses for the first day of school.

"I found the dress section!" Claire called and I hurried over. We went through the rack with lightning speed. I sighed.

"There's nothing here!" I complained.

"You're right," Claire agreed as she looked at a particular dress. "Plus, it's not like we can afford any of this. Look at this one! $120! Outrageous!"  I chuckled a bit. Claire also was cheap-o. She scanned over the racks and tore down the aisle.

"Wait up Claire!" I yelled trying to keep up with her. I finally found her in the Clearance section (which was no surprise of course).

"There's nothing here you cheap-o! You know there's actually a reason these dresses are here, because they're hideous!" I stated.

"Actually," She said as she began looking through the dresses. "They're here because they are out of season or there is need for space and they had to much in stock."

"Whatever, Know-it-all." I huffed joining her in the great search.

"Hey, if you got it, flaunt it!" She chimed pulling out a white floral dress with pink flowers. "Score!" She pumped her fists into the air.

"Fine.. maybe I was wrong..." I mumbled before spotting a mint green fabric with white polka dots. I pulled at the hangar and out came a beautiful summer dress. It had a white top with no sleeves and a mint green bow just below the left shoulder. A leather belt connected the top to a mint green skirt with polka dots. It was even my size.

"Ha ha! That dress is perfect for you!" Claire squealed and we both did our little victory dance we came up with in middle school."

"Off to the register!" I said after we checked the price tags. The were both $15-$20. This was an awesome day!
