(Mika POV)
I made my way back to the Shinoa squad's camp as quickly as I could. I wasn't supposed to be gone for that long. I was supposed to just get directions to find a way across the expanse of woodlands that stood between us and our destination. I was gone all day and I didn't even complete my task. The girls would probably be mad at me for disappearing for so long without even getting results. Yuu will definitely suspect something...what should I tell them?

As I finally neared our temporary camp on the edge of the forest, I heard Yuu calling loudly.

"Oi! Mika! What took you so long?!" I let out a long sigh. This was going to be tricky. Yuu ran up to meet me. He frowned when he saw my leave me alone face. "Something wrong? What happened?"

"Nothing. Just let me be. I'll get the directions tomorrow." I said dryly.

"Somebody's grumpy. Something obviously happened out there." His eyes narrowed when he spotted a single drop of blood on my white uniform. "Mika...spill. You can tell me."

I sighed in defeat. Why did he have to be so persistent? "I was on my way to get directions when I noticed that my 'craving issue' was acting up, so I went in the closest secluded alley I could find. It started to get really bad, so I thought I would just wait it out until most of the people left..."

Yuu nodded concernedly. "So you killed somebody? That's just great. I was hoping we'd pass through unnoticed. Why didn't you drink my blood sooner?!"

"No! I didn't kill her! Stop jumping to conclusions."

"Oh, sorry. Go on." Yuu said with relief.

"Well this girl found me and wouldn't leave me alone. She kept pestering me until I finally couldn't take it anymore. I ended up drinking her blood...I really didn't want to, but I couldn't hold myself back any longer."

"Is she alright?"

"I think so. I ended up taking her home. She seemed like she would recover fine."

"Ohhh..." Yuu paused for a moment before blurting out, "Was she pretty?".

"What?!"

"I mean she was the first human you have ever drank blood from outside our squad." ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

"...I guess so." I could feel my face heating up.

"You should totally go see if she's alright tomorrow. Maybe she could give you directions too." Yuu said while smirking. I didn't like where Yuu was taking this.

"She probably never wants to see my face again, so just drop it already. I'm going to bed. You can explain everything to Shinoa." and with that I walked off, leaving Yuu behind still smiling like an idiot to himself.
