A/N: Hi, everyone. So, I decided to finish this chapter and patch it up for you. As always, the lyrics and song go with the chapter. Let me know what you think!
"The Dead Are Dumb" by Nothing
Always try to keep up
Always fall behind
Belly painsAnd headaches
Inside youIsn't it quite the same
And isn't it such a shame
Too heavy for the lightness
But weightless in the rain
All our words are wastedNever fails to fail me
Never say never
Loathing phase
Self-inflicted pain
I'd never
Oh, I'd neverWhen Ian looked over at Calvin, he immediately ran, dashing up the stairs and into his bedroom. Ian was a little surprised, but calmly followed the brunette.
"Wow, there's a way to treat your house guests," Ian called after him, walking up the stairs.
When he got to the top of the stairs, there was a hallway with one bedroom on the far end and one right beside him. Ian stepped closer and slowly pushed open the door that was next to him. The room was basically empty save for a laundry basket and a couple of boxes.
"Calvin?" he called softly, but when he didn't see the man anywhere, he walked to the other room. The door was open, and a sheeted window was visible, a chair poking into view. He peaked around the corner, taking in the room. When he looked to his right, he saw a desk with two smashed computers, various items strewn across the off-white carpet, and Calvin looking out a larger window that didn't have blinds of any sort. His palms rested on the windowsill, he stared down at the street beneath him.
Ian's eyes landed on the man's ass, which was sticking out slightly due to the way he was leaning. He slowly made his way to Calvin and just as Ian was about to lay his hand on the man's shoulder, Calvin turned around, walked over to his bed, and sat down. Ian followed, noting how the bed sank in perhaps more than it should have as he sat down on it.
"Calvin, did you do that to your monitors?"
He didn't answer, instead favoring to stare down at his legs. Ian was almost completely certain that it was Calvin's doing.
"Why did you do that?" he asked.
Calvin took a breath before answering. "I was angry." It wasn't the whole truth, and it wasn't entirely a lie. "You made that vlog thing and told everyone what happened at the coffee shop, and I guess it really fucked with me."
Ian felt a pang of guilt. At the time of making the vlog, he was aware of the possible effects it could have on Calvin, but he was nervous about the other YouTuber striking back with a response video. Making another one before he had the chance seemed like it would deter him or at least delay a response, which would either way make Calvin look even weaker. It worked, apparently, but now Ian wished he'd never done it.
"But it doesn't matter. I'm ruined for good now." It was obvious to Ian that he was talking about the addition of the video the boys uploaded. He frowned in concentration.
"Calvin, what happened?" he asked, hoping he worded it right.
"Does it matter? You saw the video."
"You're being so evasive with me. You were so close to telling me when we were downstairs. It's just you and I now."
Calvin was conflicted. How could he tell Ian when there was more than he knew? He was leaning towards lying. He glanced up at Ian, who laid a hand on his shoulder and ran it down his back. He could lie, he told himself.
"You can talk," he said, combing Calvin's hair behind his ear. He could lie to Ian.
"You can talk to me." Ian gently took Calvin's hand, causing them to make eye contact. Calvin's breath shuddered. No. He couldn't lie.
"They...they..." Calvin struggled to explain. Frustrated and sad, a tear splashed down his cheek.
"Who?"
"I don't know them!" Calvin yelled, his voice cracking.
"Okay, okay," Ian said, his voice comforting and apologetic.
"I don't know who they are. I was walking and they just grabbed me." He stared at the far wall looking utterly traumatized. "I didn't know that's what he wanted. For fuck's sake, they looked like kids! They were fucking kids, and I just thought they wanted money or some shit."
Ian's worry grew by the second. He almost didn't want to know what happened next. Calvin shook his head, his face crumbling. His grief made itself known as soft, short cries shook his shoulders.
"I would've never done it. I didn't know. I just couldn't bare to have that video go up after everyone's already forgetting or hating me. I swear I would've never done it," he sobbed.
"Done what, Calvin?" Ian's worry was growing by the second.
"I'm not like that, he made me do it!"
"What? What did you do?"
"I said I'd do anything, but I didn't mean that. I shouldn't have went with them, but I really didn't want them to put that video up."
"Calvin." Ian was beginning to realize vaguely what Calvin was getting at.
"They wouldn't let me leave, and then..."
Ian's eyes widened as Calvin's lips parted once more.
"I...I sucked his-"
Ian wrapped his arms around Calvin and pulled him to his chest.
"I swear I'm not like that Ian," he said, his voice muffled by Ian's shirt.
"Shh," Ian hushed him, moving his hand up and down just the way he had before.
He didn't want Ian to see him as promiscuous and he wanted desperately to make sure Ian knew he didn't really have much choice, especially as they threatened with violence. "I was just so scared. I swear I"m-"
"It's okay. You don't have to explain it, Calvin. I understand." He looked up that the ceiling and back at Calvin. He was a mess. What could he do?
