(Author's Note-- hello readers! So so sorry for the long break! I'm aware that it's been over a month but I have excuses and I'm making it up to you guys with extra updating so please don't give me hate. As for my excuses...well, it's been Christmas time, and everyone gets busy then, right? Also, over my absence I was going through an awful breakup...I was extremely depressed for a few weeks but I was able to pick myself back up and I'm in the process of moving on. As another excuse, I was out of town for a whole and couldn't write. So I'm sorry. But ever since I got back in town, I have been writing a ton and I have this chapter and the next chapter and part of chapter 21 already written! So I will have 20 up for you tomorrow or sometime this week, I promise. Thank you everyone for 200 reads! I know it's not much but to me it's pretty cool. I'm hoping Long Distance will go further. It only has a few chapters left, but if I get feedback, I will start a sequel. So if you want more Long Distance, please please please comment and tell me! Because I don't want to write another story if I know people don't want me to. If I do make a sequel, it will probably be from just Lexi's point of view and I will take out Austin's point of view. I like Lexi's stories better and they are easier to write...that's why they always turn out longer. I seriously doubt anyone is reading this giant author's note, but whatever. Please comment, vote, react, and follow me! I will follow back and reply! Thanks guys, here is chapter 19--Haley(: )

I TAKE ONE last look around the apartment before zipping my small bag closed and heading to find Sydney at the table working. I sneak up behind her and rest my hands on her shoulders.

"Are you leaving?" she asks without turning around.

"Yep," I say. "I should be home tonight, but it'll be pretty late."

"Okay." She turns and smiles at me. "Have fun. See you later."

I leave the apartment in a good mood, excited for the day ahead. It's Saturday now, and I am heading to spend the day at my grandparents' lake house with Landon, Brittany, and Brittany's boyfriend Alex. Brittany called and invited me yesterday, so it was kind of on late notice...but I am looking forward to a day away.

Landon is sitting inside his black Jeep in the parking lot of my apartment complex. We agreed that he would drive because his car is better for long drives, and the lake is two hours away.

"Hiya," I say when I open his car door, putting on my white sunglasses.

"Hey gorgeous," he says, leaning over to kiss me on the cheek. "You ready?"

I nod and he pulls the car onto the road. I fiddle with the radio controls until I find a good song.

•••

"Brittany!" I call out as I fling the car door open and run into her open arms. It was about a two and a half hour drive here, to the lake house, not to mention Landon got lost three different times...my point is that I'm tired and excited and I really have to pee.

She hugs me back tightly. "Hey, Lexi!"

"It's been too long!" I cry, still holding to her tightly.

Brittany rubs my back. "Lex, it's only Saturday...I saw you Wednesday at volunteering. It's been, like, three days."

I let go and stand up straight, stretching. "Three days is too long."

Landon is still in the car in the driveway, watching us through the windshield awkwardly.

Brittany's face lights up when she sees him. "You must be Landon!" she exclaims, striding toward him.

Landon gives me a petrified look before turning to her. "Um, yeah..."

Brittany smiles widely. "I'm Brittany. It's nice to meet you."

Landon doesn't say anything in reply...wow, he sucks at being friendly.
