"Well well well. Look who we have here." She took slow, powerful strides towards us, and James moved in front of me. I grabbed my knife from its familiar spot, and prepare to thrust it at my teacher. But she waved her hand and sent me sailing down the hill.
I topple head over heels, watching the ground roll beneath me. A sturdy sounding plan comes to me, and I count how many times my feet hit the dirt. 1. 2. 3!
I'm up in the air, sailing high above the tallest mountain around. I breath in the fresh air, and look down. Even through the clouds, I knew Kara was just where I need her to be.
I flipp around head first, still solidly in the clouds. With a heavy thrust of my legs, I was flying down, a great ball of fire.
I felt it tickle my skin, and focus on my ears popping to block out the nausea. The air passed around me so fast, and I imagined the hills and mountains sailing past me through the flames.
As I got closer, I could hear them - vampires and werewolves. A lot of them. They gasped and cried at my approach, and I landed in a hand stand. Fire was sent every which way, and I smiled to myself as everyone stepped back. They were afraid of me.
James was in a powerful hold by a man, tall and lean. I focused on him as everyone tried to hit me. I sped up and created fire rings around them, but stood in confusion as nothing happened.
They laughed -- Kara, by far, was the loudest. I stood, awestruck, as two vampires caught me by my arms and pinned them painfully behind me.
I held back a cry of pain, and Kara smiled as she saw me grimace. She stepped closer.
"Now, my little vampire, you can watch as I rip your little friend to bits. Limb by limb." I struggle against the vampires' iron grasps, but make no progress.
I watch as the bring James foward. His eyes catch and hold mine. His face - covered in determination - avoided moving as a knife was brought foward. My stomach churned as one of the guards slowly brought the knife down onto his hand.
I screamed, and everything was suddenly slow. James, watching helplessly, Kara's laughs and cries of victory. All the monsters around us were slowing down. And I was speeding up.
My blood was hot, either from anger or adrenaline or both. I was out from my hold in a flash, and I was fighting. I used my only other power I possessed - Violet. It was a powerful venom that killed you instantly. And I was skilled with it.
Fifteen - 20 vampires dead. A fire shield to fend off werewolves. 5 wolves down. 30 wolves down.
Numbers rage in my head as I count the monsters I kill. Their shrieks and cries of rage and pain make me smile. They deserve this.
Kara is in front of me now, everyone dead. Only James stands next to me, wielding a knife. At first, Kara smiles. But she's not able to hide her fear.
I smile and bare my fangs, preparing to strike. Kara doesn't protest as I tackle her to the ground and inject her with my fangs. She releases a powerful cry as her blood ran down my neck.
Her breathing slowed and I rose. I made no move to wipe away the blood - it's feel made me proud, for I have killed the vampire that was unkillable.
But then again, she let me. I thought, and wiped the blood on my cloak.
James watches Kara die for a moment, his eyes filled with pain. "I almost died." He finally said, all the bravery from before gone. I turned to him and hugged him, the fear that should've been from before rushing back all at once.
My arms help James, and his help me. We were safe.
