Hook stopped in a dusty clearing. We've been walking for hours and the sky had already turned darker. Dusk was upon is.
"This is where we stop for today. I need you to send Tinkerbell to grab a friend for me, Pan." Hook commanded.
"Sure thing, pal." Peter responded and whistled a call.
Tink flew by with her trail of dust and Peter gave her orders to follow what Hook says. Hook whispered into his hands (where Tink eventually landed) and she was off again, with the same beautiful trail.
"We'll need someone to start a fire and set up. Can you do any of that pretty girl?" Hook asked.
I shook my head. "No, sorry."
"Then Pan will take care of it, he has experience. You need to come with me anyway, to meet our master thief. He might have some items in possession that could remind you of your past. Plus, hard work is no good for a lady."
"Excuse me? I'll have you know that I'm perfectly capable of taking care myself."
"Don't fret, Pan will take care of it, m'lady."
Peter had already started gathering wood for the fire wood.
"Don't worry Zoe, you go get your memory back. I got it." He flashed me a smile before returning to his work.
Hook waited for me, holding back the forest brush with his hooked hand as if he were opening an elaborate curtain. He held a flashlight with his other hand and motioned for me to go through.
"Ladies first," he said.
I passed through and he followed swiftly behind me.
"So... Where'd you get the flashlight?" I asked, starting up a conversation.
Honestly I felt uneasy with Hook. He always had a smug expression like he was up to no good.
"I asked Pan to bring it back for me from the other world when he last visited. And I see you've remembered what it was," he replied.
"Yeah because I'm looking right at it," I giggled.
"My theory was correct then."
After a few paces I started the questions again.
"So when did you decide to be a pirate?" I asked.
"Well long ago I was wash-boy on a British ship with Smee. We were treated horribly. One day during a terrible storm, they locked us out of the cabins, leaving us for dead. But karma took the likes of them. We climbed onto the ropes that held the sails and held on for our dear lives. The sink was flooded with water, although we didn't sink, and the rest of the crew drowned. I appointed myself captain because I could take care of both Smee and I. We sailed the seas as pirates, not under the control of anyone."
"Wow, you're really brave." I said in awe thinking about what would happen to me if I was in that situation.
His eyes widened at me. "I, uh, thank you." He stuttered.
I chuckled. "Why are you so surprised that I called you brave?"
"Well, no one's ever said that to me, or complimented me. They always think I'm a villain. When I take from another ship I always make sure it's a fair fight, like I deserve to have their treasures. If the others won, I would let them have mine, because they deserve it."
"I didn't know it worked that way. Being a pirate seems like fun."
"Oh it is, my dear Zoe."
"Have any girl pirates on board?" I questioned.
