Hook had dragged Peter over, who was overcome with sadness. I looked at him, a bit disappointed. He didn't look back, instead Hook did.
Hook placed Peter on another rock near the pile. Peter slumped down, in deep, upset thought. I shook my head. I guess he doesn't care about me anymore.
Hook placed a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him and his mouth curled into a small smile. He forgives me.
We looked at the pile. It was filled with items of all types, including the one's that I learned were stolen.
"My compass!" Hook grabbed the golden compass and rubbed it with his thumb.
"Who would put everything here? And why?" I asked aloud, curious.
"There's Aladdin's lamp." Hook grabbed it and put it into his coat.
"And Cinderella's shoe," I held the glass slipper delicately.
"There's a note here." Hook took the piece of paper the was lying near all the items.
He read it aloud. "If one of you managed to find this, congratulations, you now know what it's like to have something meaningful taken away from you. That was my whole life, and if you're going to throw me away for other people (Peter and the Lost Boys) then I'll find something valuable to take up my time. Too bad I got bored trying to find happiness for myself while some people (Peter) were too busy to pay attention to me for so long. So before I left Neverland, I made sure to take something away from each and every one of you. Cindy, I took your slipper, that way you'll never get your prince like I never got mine. Snow, you didn't deserve yours either, and he wasn't as fun as you said he was. Aladdin, why should you get a genie to grant you wishes when you please? I tried to use him for myself but he's too loyal, you're lucky. Hook, we had fun, but it was stupid. You're compass is here because you shouldn't be able to find your way if I can't. Peter, I don't know if you noticed but you'll never see me again. Ever. Love, Wendy.
'There was more, but you didn't meet the others."
Hook rolled up the letter and stuffed it into his coat with his compass.
"That was intense," I remarked, eyeing the pile.
"At least it all makes sense now m'lady. If Wendy couldn't be happy, nobody could, she was just that way." Hook commented.
I nodded my head in agreement and whispered to Peter.
"I'm sorry she did that to you."
Peter shook his head and turned away. His face was blank of any emotion and I knew he wouldn't be talking for the rest of the day. I stood up and looked at Hook who came over and whispered," It'll take a while but he'll get over it."
I turned to him and hugged him, glad that he was here for me, that he was talking to me again. He held me close.
After a while he grabbed Peter. "I'm going to have to carry this idiot down."
"He's not flying?" I asked.
"No, he doesn't have anymore faith or trust. Or pixie dust, remember?"
"Oh..."
Hook dragged Peter, who rendered himself immobile from depression. I wanted to do something to make him feel better but I couldn't. Hook threw the rope we used originally at me and I took it. I was to descend first.
I begun slowly and easily, watching Hook get closer to me as he caught up. Eventually I was behind. Hook and Peter were closely below me though.
My worst fears were realized when I took a step down on a notch in the mountain. The rock was loose, and I fell, down into one of the deep dents I noticed before. I screamed as I fell but felt relieved when I realized I wasn't splattered on the ground.
