The car comes to a sudden stop. Judy jumps out of the car and dashes out the car, instead of running through the ZIS double doors like originally planned Judy crashes into another mammal. Papers go flying and they both fall to the floor with a thump.

"I'm so sorry," Judy exclaims.

Nick gives Judy a hand up.

"Aren't you Tommy? Fawn's brother?" Nick asks,

"Yeah," Tommy says shyly,

"Let me help you with that," Judy offers.

She begins to pick up the papers when she comes across a file with 'ZPD case file' on the front.

"This says it belongs to the ZPD... but you don't work for the ZPD," Judy says,

"Oh, that? It's nothing, not an actual ZPD file," Tommy replies.

Judy picks up another file and another all saying 'ZPD case file' on the front, when she finds on saying 'ZIS case file'.

"You wouldn't have happened to be anywhere near the station this morning were you?" Judy asks.

Tommy doesn't get a chance to reply. The ZIS doors burst open, Fawn and two other mammals emerge.

"There he is! Get that fox!" Fawn yells.

Tommy snatches the files off Judy and scrambles to pick up the rest. He makes a run for it. Judy doesn't hesitate to follow Tommy. The ZIS agents lag behind and fall out of sight. Nick stays only seconds behind Judy. Tommy leads Judy and Nick into an inner neighbourhood hood of the city. He dashes into one of the houses. Judy puts her foot in the door to stop Tommy from shutting it. Judy and Nick slither through the gap and as soon as they are in the house the door slams shut. Judy tries to pull the door open but fails miserably.

"It won't budge," Judy sighs,

"Then I suppose we'll have to cop the fox," Nick replies.

There's a footstep sound from the back of the house. Nick slowly walks to the sound. He comes across a door. He pulls it open and finds a staircase.

"What is it?" Judy whispers?

"Stairs," Nick mutters.

Nick begins to walks up the stairs.

"You're not seriously walking up there," Judy exclaims,

"You have a better idea, carrots?" Nick asks.

Nick walks up the stairs. Judy sighs and follows him. The upstairs of the house is almost pitch black. Nick walks into what seems like a ladder.

"Carrots, I'm going up again," Nick tells Judy,

"No, the only way up could be the attic. That'll be one way, once we go in there's basically no getting out," Judy replies,

"Look Carrots, it's been nearly 5 years since I've been able to do an actual job. I didn't sign up for sitting in an office or trying the chase a car but turns out the ZIS is on top of that too. After this I'll go sit in an office like you carrots, just give me one last chance to do what I signed up for. If you don't want to come along, fine by me. Just don't hold me back," Nick begs,

"Okay, well give me a paw up. It's dark," Judy sighs.

In the pitch black, Nick smiles. He hands Judy a paw and as he scrambles up the ladder. At the top of the ladder theres piles of files, and passports, strange machines and a map of Zootropolis. The attic door slams shut and there are the crackles of a radio.

"Who's there?" Judy cries out,

"I'm sorry Officer Wilde, Officer Hopps. If only you weren't so smart. I wanted to bad to keep you in the dark. I was actually going to spare you," Tommy's voice crackles,

"What on earth are you talking about?" Nick asks,

"The ZPD failed us, and those who fail can't carry on," Tommy's voice continues.

Then Tommy's voice begins to go strange, it turns a little squeakier and then deeper before reverting to normal.

"There has to be a way out, there's always a way out," Judy whispers.

Nick looks at the trapdoor. He then jumps on it. Judy picks up on what he's doing and attempts to help. The trapdoor smashes in and Nick tumbles down the ladder.

"Are you ok?" Judy asks,

"All good," Nick replies.

Judy clambers down the ladder. She pulls out her radio.

"Judy Hopps to the station, hello? Judy Hopps to the station," Judy screams down the radio,

"What are you doing carrots? He'll hear you," Nick hisses,

"Yes?" Clawhouser replies through the radio,

"We have a ten ninety-one! Send back up now! City centre, sparrow lane! Hurry!" Judy yells,

"Oh uh okay, backups on its way," Clawhauser replies

A shadow walks up the staircase, their face is not visible to Judy and Nick.

"See, now we're dead," Nick hisses,

Tommy aims his gun at Judy and shoots. Judy falls back pressing her paw against the wound.

"I'm so sorry cupcake," Tommy sighs.

"Wait did you says cupcake?" Nick asks.

Tommy steps back.

"No, I didn't," Tommy stammers.

Nick looks at Tommy silence for a moment as everything dawns on him. He looks between Tommy and Judy

"Cupcake, the crackle of the voice. I never told Tommy I worked at the ZPD. It's you, you're doing this," Nick says

"I have no clue what you're talking about," Tommy stuttered.

"Jake, it's been you all along, hasn't it?" Nick snaps

Jake takes off his fox mask. He looks at Judy in the eye.

"I befriended you so you would suspect me, I never meant to..." Jake sighs,

"Why would you do this?" Judy asks

"I suppose it won't hurt to tell you. My mother, she was killed, in the attacks five years ago. My family left the city, all but me. I was alone. I swore to get revenge on those who failed to protect my family. So I joined the ZPD to take it down from the inside. I stole the contracts, uncovered the undercover ZPD officers and ZIS agents. I was going to sell them out for a price of course. I pretended to be Fawn's brother to get a more inside look of the ZIS. I was so close to achieving my goal. I sabotaged the ZPD cases and the ZIS ones too. Everybody in the city hates you now. They'll be glad once you're gone and there's no stopping me," Jake hisses.

Jake aims his gun at Nick. When he pulls the trigger a clicking noise occurs.

"Out of bullets?" Nick chuckles,

"It doesn't matter, I used a ZPD gun it could have just as well been you to shoot and Judy won't last to tell the tale," Jake replies.

Nick gives Judy a paw up. She glares at Jake then chuckles.

"But? How?" Jake stammers,

"Bulletproof jacket, standard issue. I'm sure you'd know that being on the force and all, it'll bruise a bit but then that's alright" Judy replies,

"It doesn't matter, it's my word against yours," Jake snaps,

"Ooooh," Judy laughs.

Judy pulls out her carrot pen and rewinds the recording. 'I stole the contracts, uncovered the undercover ZPD officers and ZIS agents. I was going to sell them out for a price of course.'

"Looks like it's your word against yours," Judy chuckles.

Nick gives Judy a paw up and she leans on her partner.

"It's called a hustle sweetheart," Judy says.

Jake steps back. There's a thud at the door as Chief Bogo and his officers barge into the building. Jake becomes surrounded with nowhere to go. He's marched downstairs and into the back of a police car.
