Melissa's pov

I yawned and woke up. I pushed the covers off me to reveal my batman onesie. I looked at the clock and it read 7:35 am. I then looked beside my bed to see my best friend Amanda and her iPad watching Jessie "good morning" I said

"Oh hey" she yawned while shutting off her iPad "wanna go get some breakfast" I asked feeling my stomach growl "sure sounds cool" she replied peeling her blankets off her to travels fuzzy pajama pants and a triathlon tea-shirt.

We both raced down the stairs at the smell of bacon and pancakes. We grabbed some paper plates and loaded them with French toast, bacon and pancakes. We added some syrup and sat down. "So what are we gonna do today?" Amanda asked
"Well lets see, hmmmmm, oh yeah we're Going to go mini golf then see a movie oh and then we're-" my dad rudely interrupted me and said "but first were going to go to church. So you guys should go get ready after this" he then continued to wash the dishes Amanda groaned "uhg really! We're going to church?!?!" She asked half and half angry

I felt a little offended but then shook it off as we were only 10. I guess I was just strong in my faith and not her which I didn't really care about for she has her own opinions.

"Well we better go get ready" I said noticing that we both had finished our food. We both walked up the stairs. She went to my room to get her toothbrush while I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I walked in and looked in the mirror. I saw my messy brown hair everywhere and some acne. I sighed trying not let the fact that I hated my appearance. I mean look at Barbie for goodness sake she's flawless!(I'm not hating on Barbie guys just letting you know) "Hey Amanda can you grab me my Barbie doll plz." I shouted to my room
"Sure" she replied once she got back in here I looked in the mirror and saw beautiful and straight black hair with absolutely zero acne on her face. It was Amanda.

"Here" she said handing me the doll I studied it "wow look at how straight and amazing barbies hair is" I said in disbelief I knew I shouldn't be worried trying about my appearance at such a young age but that's all I did. "Yeah I know look at her hair! Omg it's almost as good as mine!" Amanda shouted. I then studied barbies outfit it was amazing. " oh look at how slim her body is" Amanda said. How could she be like this at 10?!?! I wondered. But then again i was worrying about myself too so I can't  be hypocrite in this situation "you know look at Barbie no acne, amazing hair, best outfit and no body fat! She's flawless..... just like me!" Amanda said admiringly " you just have to work a little on yourself and soon you will be as good as me!" She said I wanted to cry I didn't know why she would say something like that to me. "So you don't want to go to church then?" I asked "uhg definitely not" she groaned I sighed and said "ok the we can just drop you off before we go to church then" I said
"WHAT?!?!? But what about mini golf and the movies?" She whined I couldn't believe this right now "it's not cause you don't wanna go to church it's well just cause of what you said to me" I felt a little sorry but I looked back in the mirror and I only saw flaws I sighed and said "let's go get you packed then we will be on our way"
