Out of time

"Adoption papers,!?!" Chase and I asked in disbelief. "Well only if you want it. Wait let me check with my husband." Elise pulled out her phone. Her eyes lowered. "Sorry about getting your hopes up. He doesn't want to adopt." She sighed. "Oh" I said. I was just happy my cancer was gone. "Well thank you for trying Doctor Elise." Chase said. She looked at him
"Well I better get going just holler if you need anything" she sighed

"Chase does this mean we're gonna have to get split up?" I croaked. He looked at me. Tears pooled his eyes. "Mellissa I will always love you!" He cried, we hugged and both cried. I knew it would only be a matter of time.

I returned to school with a little bit of hair back. Short but worked. Today was my last day. Today I would stay good bye to my brother and pack up for a different adoption. I walked in the classroom. The teacher looked at me. "Were all very sorry Mellissa." She said. I sat down in my seat. "So b***h" Amanda started
"Finally we won't have to deal with you! You worthless loser." She scowled, I noticed Collin looking at us. Something clicked. He stood up out of his chair and flew his fist at Amanda. "IVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU AMANDA!" He screamed. She went flying to the floor. She looked at him in disbelief. "COLLIN!" The teacher said. "She making fun of Mellissa." He replied. She got a look of sympathy. "This is the only time I will let it fly Collin" she said,

Lunchtime came and sat down with my best friends lily, Collin, and Josie.
"We're really gonna miss you" said Josie as she took a bite from her salad. She will make a great model some day. That was her dream job. "Yeah I'm really gonna miss you" lily said handing me a Twinkie. I laughed a little. "Im gonna miss you guys to" I said as I took them all into a hug. We talked a little bit more. Collin seemed distant and quite but he has for the past couple of weeks. I knew he had trouble but never knew of what.

I zipped up my backpack. This was it. I turned around and all my friends were there. We said our goodbyes and I headed off. I could feel tears going down my face.

The two cars waited right next to each other. I had on my back pack. I looked at chase. I ran up and gave him a great big hug. We both cried. " I love you" I said
"I love you too!" He cried "I promise I will find you some day!" He said. He looked back at each other. He was off to Florida and I'm off to Rhode Island. We shared once last smile before getting into the cars. My new "dad"  had a brown beard and brown hair." He looked at me and smiled. "I'm Mr. harnoff but you can call me father. And my wife is at home but you can call her mother."
"Uhm..... ok" i said. We started our trip to Rhode Island.
Hours passed of me just looking out the window.
