You look upon the ocean as you normally would, pondering existence and such, when you see something out of the ordinary.
There is a kite-shaped orange gem laying in the sand. It glistens in the sunset and you reach to touch it, but retract as it might be a gem artifact.
Living in such a small town as Beach City, you know that the gems have drawn some pretty odd stuff to the town, but all for the better of the Earth.
Deciding that it might just be an expensive gemstone that could be sold, you wrap it up in the cloth you brought for your lunch.
As your feet caress the warm sand, you realize it could be a gem, that could be injured. If that's how gems work anyway. You begin to plan out what you would do with it when you get home. You would set up a pillow and other assorted things you had around the house in case it regenerates.
Reaching the city, you hear the chit-chat of the town as it begins to settle down for the evening. Lars and Sadie are being cute as always, you totally ship it.
The door to your shop/home slides open and you turn on the lights to the shop part. Everything is in order, but you slowly scan the area just in case. Walking up the stairs to the apartment like part of your building, you feel the gem start to slip out of the cloth. You stumble and it falls out, tumbling through the air for a few seconds as you pray that it doesn't hit anything hard.
Fortunately, it lands on the carpet of your living room floor. After inspecting it, you head to the bedroom. It's neat and clean, you clean your room once a week in case you have any visitors.
Cradling the gem, you grab a spare pillow and put it in the corner. The gem looks almost comfortable in the situation. Weird.
You feel the need to go downstairs and watch the new episode of Crying Breakfast Friends that had just aired today. The new installations were a rare treat considering the quality.
Sitting down on the couch with a bag of fresh Cheetos, you turn on the TV and relax.
As the episode resolves and you're almost in tears you feel your eyes beginning to droop. You watch the credits roll as everything fades to black.
