Chapter 4
Lacey's POV
When I woke up I was in a huge room and my hands were handcuffed to a headboard. My head was really sore and I knew it was bleeding bad. It took me a while to take in my surroundings. There were at least 10 other matresses but not all of them were occupied. There were about 7 other girls there, most were about my age, there was one in her 20s and a couple who had to be no more than 13. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The one that was in her twenties came over to me and started wrapping my head, she poured some sort of liquid om my head that made my jump and I accidentally head butted her. She slapped me across my face and said
"If you can't handle this you won't last long here. Daddy will toss you out in a heartbeat"
"Daddy?" I asked.
"He takes care of us and he loves us all, sometimes if you're really good, he'll take you upstairs and you can spend the night with him. Thats how little Joe came to be," she points at her stomach. It was huge, she looked 8 months pregnant, I don't know how I didn't see it before. She continues to wrap my head, while telling me some of the rules.
"My name is Ellie by the way"
"I'm Lacey," she smiles at me and puts tape on my bandages.
"That should do it, Daddy said he'll be back later with some pain reliever. He told me to get you dressed, you're going to be eatimg dinner with him, he does this with all tje new ones."
"How long have you been here" I ask her.
She frowns at me and says, "7 years maybe more, I lost count after a while."
"Thats horrible, don't you think your family misses you. You're in your twenties, didn't you have a husband or fiancé?" I obviously said something wrong because once again she slapped me.
"It is not horrible! Daddy loves me, my family gave me away to him, they never cared for me the way daddy does." By now tears were streaming down her face.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have said anything,"
She looked at me with such sadness it almost brought tears to my eyes. She quickly wiped her tears and said
"To answer your other question, Daddy is my fiancé. Were getting married this July," she smiled and I smiled back. She was about to get up when I said,
"Wait, I want to know about your wedding plans. Have you picked a dress, flowers, are you going to a church or a courthouse? I love weddings"
She smiles and sits down at the end of my bed.
"Nobody else here takes interest in my wedding, they're just jealous because I'm carrying Daddy's baby."
"Well that's rude of them"
"Yeah?" She smirks, "Well I already have a dress, no flowers, daddy doesn't want to have it at a church but I'm still trying to convince him."
"Do you have any bridesmaids?"
"No, none of the girls like me and I'm not gonna ask them either"
"I'll be your bridesmaid"
"Really? You just met me and you want to be part of my wedding?"
"Sure, why not? Every bride should have a bridesmaid. Besides you seem like a really cool person. I'd love to be part of your wedding."
"Okay. I'll have to talk to Daddy first but I'm sure he'll say yes."
I smile and she gets up and hugs me. She lets go, smiles at me and says,
"I better go get your dress for your date with Daddy"
I nod and she walks away. I take the time alone to look around again. All the girls are in their beds either reading or painting their nails, but one was staring directly at me. She started to get up but quickly sat back down whem a door opened.
